Former LSU defensive tackle Sydir Mitchell appeared on TikTok Live this week and stated that it was Brian Kelly's decision for him to leave the team back in September.

Mitchell said he has been lying low, finishing up school, and would definitely be interested in returning to the team.

"Things happen, people come to disagreements, but there were no hard feelings," Mitchell said.

Mitchell transferred to LSU from Texas in the offseason and did not play in LSU's first two games of the season. Kelly revealed on September 10 that he was no longer on the team.

“Look, there are standards,” Kelly said. “I can confirm he is no longer on the roster but we have standards that need to be met. And those standards were not met. Like any business or organization, you have workplace standards. So, those standards were not met. That’s all I’m going to talk about relative to Sydir because he’s no longer with us.”

Kelly is one to talk about not meeting standards. Like any business or organization, LSU football has standards. So, those standards weren't met.

They probably need to fire him for not meeting those standards? Lol

It should be mandatory for our players to take PR & Communication courses. It would benefit their future if they learned better public speaking skills. I know for a while Tommy Karam was doing something like that for our players.

What college classes do these “student athletes” actually take? Lawd have mercy there is no way these are scholars of higher education.

Hopefully, it is just a communication issue because otherwise he has the IQ of broccoli.

Nah I think we’re good. Dude seems like a straight clown playing with his hair barely speaking English wearing that chain while he doesn’t have any income and isn’t on a team. Definitely not good for the culture

He’s a DT, who gives a shite? He didn’t come here to play school

However, that's exactly whats wrong with this situation - LSU is a University, that has a football team. In that order.

Nah bruh, we good. Continue to your next school. I want to say I can’t believe what I just listened to, but honestly, I’m really not surprised. I couldn’t even make it 30 seconds in.

I agree with Kelly on this one. I was actually surprised he even got offered a scholarship. I don't remember him doing much at Texas and don't like huge/fat/overweight guys.

......but can he plug gaps and stop the run?

Once again, DL are supposed to do more than "plug gaps and stop the run". They need to push up the middle when the team passes and IF the QB takes off and runs up the middle, they need to be mobile enough to at least force him to run around him. This guy is the typical out of shape/overweight DL that LSU does NOT need.

What in the hell did I just watch? I don’t think I caught a single word of that. And playing with the hair. What is that? He was working at it hard enough to have been braiding it, but he was just twisting it. I’d like to see what school he’s gonna finish. And his list of medications

IMO , at least 30% of the team is below what I would call " the LSU standard " , including Kelly Kelly and half his staff.

The way he looks ain't got shite to do with how he plays on the field. And a 5-4 (2-4 SEC) team can't be f'ing choosey, if the kid wants back in after BK's firing, I say why not. There was no negativity about him through camps until Kelly claimed standards weren't met and that's real rich from an HC who himself didn't meet the standards set by LSU. I think Kyle could've done something with 6-6 320 lbs in the middle of the defense.

How can Brian Kelly say he has standards? He cheated on his wife and he tore into a reporter for asking a pertinent question about the team's offensive performance.

Fine, but isn't it wierd how Kelly is open to players having standards, but wont sign a contract holding him to standards of excellence. POS

They should fire him for not meeting those standards and sue him for not signing his contract. Wow, lol
