Former LSU star Leonard Fournette sent out a tweet on Thursday to defend his former running back coach, Frank Wilson.

Wilson coached Fournette when he was the running back coach and recruiting coordinator at LSU from 2010-2015. He returned to Baton Rouge in 2022 as running back coach under Brian Kelly and took over as interim head coach after Kelly was fired on October. 26.

Wilson is expected to be named running back coach at Ole Miss sometime after LSU's Bowl game against Houston on Dec. 27, which LSU fans have mixed feelings about.

Fournette is right. There is nothing to gain by crucifying Frank Wilson. He gave a great deal to LSU. It just didn't work out...Life.

What are the rumors? That LSU running game was bad?

RB can't run if there is no blocking unless it Barry Sanders!

What rumors exactly?? Not shocking that LF7 would be defending CFW. I just didn't know there was alot of "rumors" going on. Thought Kiffin was just choosing "his guy" over the guy who was here before. Not really abnormal in coaching changes

The stupid arse rumor about Wilson telling kids not to commit to LSU yet because he doesn't know if he will be retained. One loud mouth arse LSU media guy ran with some bullshite that NO OTHER MEDIA MEMBER stated happened. These folks crucified him over one rumor. And it shows there is either a thin line between love and hate, or MFers weren't ever in your corner to begin with. We toss position coaches dyed in the soil of Louisiana away just because they haven't performed in a couple years like we didn't have dysfunction every damn where. No well wishes, or nothing, just frick offs from the fairweather fans.

It was literally Tiger Rant shitposting that started it

Wasn't just a rumor

The Rant has got a great big hole, right in the middle of itself. And can never hate enough, or complain enough, or inflict enough harsh criticism to ever fill it.

I agree but it’s the reckoning.

If our O-line and Brad Davis didn’t suck so much, we may have been able to run the ball.

If Frank Wilson was everything that embodies LSU, he wouldn't be working for Ol' fricking Miss.

No one said Frank Wilson was a bad man. Crucifying is a bit much. Soft arse world.

"look at the guys he has had in the pros that played on teams and who impacted the games".....so, you. Who else?

Spencer Ware, Stevan Ridley, Jeremy Hill. LSU has had a major problem with injuries ending NFL careers. Derrius Guice would have been a monster but the injury and the other stuff...

No sir Stevan Ridley is a Larry Porter guy and has said so many times. Your credibility in tarnished if you are going to make that statement

Frank Wilson is a great guy. Fully support Frank whatever he decides to do. Thanks for all you have done for LSU.

Agree. FW has been great to LSU and vice versa. Have some class and leave the door open for him to return one day.

But mostly the worst. The biggest cry baby, complaining, know it alls that love bashing kids and coaches behind anonymity. Gutless and spineless.

So Fournette… is saying Frank Wilson taught him how to be a pro in the nfl?

I’m… confused by your tactics

Love LF, but it's sort of an indictment of himself considering his pro career.

You mean his injuries? Because that's the only thing that stopped him. And indictment based on NFL? Where in the hell are all these goalposts when crowning other people? Who has Lane Kiffin put in the league that has done something great? He coached Hurts for 2 years. His final year at Oklahoma is what got him drafted. We don't want to give Hankton credit for all the NFL WRs he recruited and/or coached at LSU and UGA, but we can praise Hartline for getting all borderline 5 stars and them succeeding in the NFL at Ohio St?

Huh? Starting back in the NFL and SB champion. Average NFL career for runs is like 3 years. You realize that right?
How long did he play, I forget? Idiot

I understand you can't be logical, so I'll dumb it down for you. LF is defending Wilson and saying look at the guys he put in the pros and praising him for his own personal development. LF had 6 meaningful seasons in the NFL, two 1000 yard seasons, and averaged 3.9 per carry for his career. He is by far the shining jewel of Frank Wilson's contributions to the pros

It is a shame that LF7 never made $1 in college. He would have had some massive NIL opportunities coming out of st. Aug to get paid.
user avatar
tigahlovah10 hours
You are joking right?? Thesr kids have been getting paid for decades. Which makes the poor exploited college athlete arguement so laughable. Things were just fine (with the stars getting paid) before this NIL and transfer BS.
