Joe Burrow just got PAID.

On Thursday night, former LSU Heisman quarterback Joe Burrow agreed with the Cincinnati Bengals on a 5-year, $275 million extension that includes $219.01 million guaranteed.

His new deal makes Burrow the highest-paid player in NFL history.

Burreaux: The standard bearer by which all LSU QBs will be measured against from now until the end of time!

So much for taking a "team friendly deal" like I heard so much about. They gotta figure out how to pay Chase next year without completely gutting whatever talent on D and OL they have. Congrats Joey Brr, you deserve it. However, your team will suck arse for the next 5 years with that cap hit. If you want a superbowl ring, it's this year or bust my dude.

He may be, but won’t be able to build a team around that contract now. No super bowls

Nope! Not when you can't afford wide relievers and O lineman

His annual pay should boost LSU's surprisingly strong earnings by grads. I think LSU is ranked 4th in the SEC in earnings.

I don't blame him for getting paid, obviously but I hope this doesn't cause him to have a dogshit skill group like Mahomes (outside of kelce)

From now on every time a star QB signs a new deal it'll have to be a new record

I thought if anyone could set a new example (leaving some $$$ for the rest) it would have been him. He would have been a real game changer in that aspect. Congrats tho.

It makes sense. His level of play is completely separate from the rest of the league.

Now he has enough moohlah to tale care of his offensive lineman. Can you imagine Burreaux with anoth 1 second of time?

No, you can not!!

Can you imagine Joe with receivers and offensive lineman that they can't afford to pay? No you cannot!!

You know what you get with a good well paid offensive line and a bad qb who doesn’t make much money? A losing record
