Former LSU head coach Brian Kelly is joining the CBS College Football commentator crew this fall and will be calling the Mountain West games, according to to Front Office Sports.
quote:

“CBS Sports has one Big Ten football game a week, as well as Mountain West rights,” Glasspiegel wrote. “This season, Charles Davis is replacing Gary Danielson alongside Brad Nessler on Big Ten games at the network. Kelly is expected to be part of a three-man booth on Mountain West games on the broadcast network, one source said …

“This move was partly foreshadowed when Kelly was a part of CBS Sports Network’s studio coverage around the NFL Draft. He will also be an analyst on the CBSSN weekday program, Inside College Football, this season.”

Great comment! (Don't know what happened to my earlier comment)

Hopefully, the deal is for $9,500,000 a year.

What’s he gonna talk about? How not to win a championship?
user avatar
Lets be honest, he'll probably do really well at this job. Thats all he was...talk. Please just dont have him call LSU games.

How many players, coaches and fans there will be deemed "spoiled?"

Yes…all reported income reduces LSU’s $-responsibility

Is it dollar for dollar? If so, why work at all?

The contract stipulates that he must pursue other jobs. It doesn't say he has to take any job offered, but he has to take an active role in pursuing other work.

I can just hear him "What's his name, #23, just made a great catch!"

Please stop using pictures of Kelly on the sideline as LSU’s coach. Maybe cbs has a current picture.

Good God poor MWC fans have to hear that voice for 3 hours every week.

On the flip side, I'm probably in the minority but I kinda like that Charles Davis/Nessler combo.

So he's not actively looking for a coaching job? Does that breach his buyout?

Can't wait to hear what accent he uses for each game.

All CBS games worth watching will come with a mute button. No problem.

Better than him coaching somewhere. I think he will still speak highly of LSU at any given point. I mean shite, we paid him enough AND it will look poorly on him if he doesn't.

He’ll struggle to match the breakneck offensive pace of an Iowa

The same Iowa that bodied a fringe sec playoff candidate in their January bowl game.

No dipshit, the Iowa that ranked 130 out of 136 teams in plays per game and averaged over 31 minutes of possession per game

Even though he's all talk, I think people will still hate his arrogant arse. Probably one of the most hated sports personalities

Ran the SOB off so hard he won’t even work an SEC game now.
