Several potential candidates for the LSU head coaching job will be in action this weekend in some big-time marque games. With the Tigers off this week, here are some matchups LSU fans might want to pay attention to on Saturday:

Luke Fickell
Final: No. 2 Cincinnati beat Tulane, 31-12.

Mel Tucker
Final: No. 8 Michigan State beat No. 6 Michigan, 37-33.

Dave Aranda
Final: No. 16 Baylor beat Texas, 31-24.

Billy Napier
Final: Louisiana beat Texas State, 45-0.

Matt Campbell
Final: No. 22 Iowa State lost to West Virginia, 38-31.

Lincoln Riley
Final: No. 4 Oklahoma beat Texas Tech, 52-21.

Lane Kiffin
Final: No. 10 Ole Miss lost to No. 18 Auburn, 31-20.

Mark Stoops
Final: No. 12 Kentucky lost to Mississippi State, 31-17.

Mike Gundy
Final: No. 15 Oklahoma State beat Kansas, 55-3.

Brian Kelly
Final: No. 11 Notre Dame beat North Carolina, 44-34.

James Franklin
Final: No. 20 Penn State lost to No. 5 Ohio State, 33-24.

I just dont think he leaves Michigan St. He is a good coach, but I just dont see him leaving.

Yeah. I mean this is the first season since he has been a head coach that he has had success. If you want to roll the dice then pick Mel Tucker who has just slightly more head coaching experience relative to Dave Aranda with a year less. Nonetheless, both of them pail in comparison to the experience of success relative to Lane Kiffin.

I like Gundy. He’d be a solid hire… maybe not a grand slam like Riley or Aranda, but a solid hire.
