Former LSU QB Jamie Howard joined ESPN's 104.5 FM’s Culotta & The Prince morning show on Wednesday morning and talk about how Brandon Harris received death threats after the Wisconsin game that "shook him up." Per The Advocate:
quote:

“It shook him up when he got the death threats,” Howard said later in the radio interview. “The only advice I’ve given him is, ‘The truth of the matter is everybody’s going to be watching you from the stands, how you handle yourself while you’re on the bench and how you deal with Danny and the coaching staff, but all of those people don’t matter. The only people that matter is what your teammates see. If they need you to go back into the game at some point, they need to be confident in you and see that you’re confident.’

“He’s doing well. He’s a great kid,” Howard said. “I’m hoping he’ll get through it. This is going to be good in the long term.”
You can listen to everything Howard said here.

"I bleed Purple and Gold, LSU is my life, man," Harvey Williams, LSU 5th all-time rusher said. "At the end of the day, Les Miles and Cammy-Cam (offensive coordinator Cam Cameron) need to be run out of Baton Rouge, like them ol' Frankenstein movies with torches and all that. Everybody in Baton Rouge ought to light a torch. "We sat there and watched this last year. After the third play of the (Wisconsin) game, I knew it was the same thing. It's not fair to all those kids out there. If Billy Cannon were dead right now, he'd be rolling in his grave. I feel like I'm watching the '56-'57 football team that was running like a 1920 offense." On why LSU struggles passing the ball: "It's about practice. You create an environment so hostile for that kid (starting quarterback Brandon Harris), you make a practice a lot harder than the games. You can't put that (Wisconsin) loss on that kid. You've got to put that on Cam Cameron. What does Cam Cameron make, $1.5 million? (Actually, it's $1.3 million). He ought to give $1.2 of it back."

Miles/Cam w/Spears and others demanding they be fired are responsible for ScapeGoating Harris: Coaching/Scheme was the cause of the WISC loss: No Tempo/Spread - BH was 7-0 last yr never trailing in a game and set scoring records as a FR running a spread option O w/63 pts on 9 drives - 100% Scoring Efficiency. At WISC he was back under center behind an injured O-Line, was Sacked 3 times and hurried 8 times and made the Scapegoat as was Dupre who was mauled by double and triple coverage out of 2 WR sets. LF was dinged up w/a pre-season high ankle sprain, had 11 carries for 35 yds lst Half, 0 TDs in the game, and aggravated his injury. It was ALA/ARK/OM redux, using LF as a human wrecking ball is risking his future. "Kiffin and Saban (^everyone) are a little smarter, they don't just line up and run at you regardless". WISC has the #1 Scoring Def allowing 13.5 pts/gm. Miles 3 straight SEC losses were the 1st since Dinardo got fired for it in 1999 & the 99-37 margin worst since 1966. Averaging 16 pts over 5 reg season games, failing to score 20 pts is a record, period. He is scoreless in the 4th Qtr of all 3 games this yr, managing only 1 TD in the JVS in the 3rd, and scoreless in the 2nd half of the MSST game, so Miles "Win It In The 4th" left in 2011. Miles/Cam are 9-9 SECW 14-10 SEC over the last 3 yrs with the #2 SEC and #5 FBS Roster - finishing 14th, Unranked, and 17th AP Top 25. That is the worst Coaching vs Talent Gap in the Top 25. Tom Herman/Major Applewhite finished 8th w/1 4* and a 73rd ranked Roster. Coaching/Scheme trumps talent. Bo Schembechler ball is dead.

This is a great recruiting pitch.

What's so ridiculous about all this, death threats aside even, is that there's this opinion amongst some fans that Harris, or insert QB name here, is that he is somehow just out there trying to screw the team fans when all he's really doing is doing his very best, and it's just not working out for him. Some people need to really just step away and get some perspective, and grow the hell up. It's ridiculous the Even people take this sport to sometimes.

While we are publicly condemning those who would send death threats to anyone, in this case our very own LSU Tiger football player, it is long overdue to condemn that small but significant enough portion of our fan base that continues to hate Nick Saban with their public displays and immature chants. It's an embarrassment to the entire Tiger fan nation. You hate SJWs? Pot meet kettle.

Did somebody actually threaten his life. It sounds like a pretty messed up person told him to drink bleach. I do not see the threat in that. Tacky yes, but threat? I think there is some miscommunication going on

This could, and probably does happen all over the country to college & pro players, so not like this is an LSU issue only...But other coaches may try to use it as an anti-LSU recruiting tool...

How do you know it was "drunk white guys" sending those messages? I'm not saying it wasn't, but unless you know who sent them, your post sounds racist.

Well that's pretty messed up. Who does something like this. We have some low life fans to do something like this. Sad.

Howards 6 int's in a game we really had wrapped up may not be the worst loss in our history but its in the top 5. Hallman should have been fired on his way to the locker room. Unbelievable. I understand through all of that J. Howard has done a number of great deeds/donations for his alma mater.

I was at LSU at the time & remember it well. Dark days for LSU for several reasons. Props to J. Howard for living through that & becoming a huge supporter & great alumnus of LSU.

Really? Every time a QB fu..s up someone allegedly threatens them. By the way, any death threats hardly had an effect on Harris' play as his play already was pathetic.

Any LSU "fan" that sent him death threats should be publicly beaten and humiliated if true. I care a whole hell of a lot about winning, but this is a kid playing a game. Get some perspective.

This is just as absurd as the death threats. Don't lower your standards bc of immature losers out there.

I think there is a segment of the LSU fanbase who sees death threats as motivation by other means.

All you super fans need to get a grip of your own sad arse lives if you're sending death threats to Harris

Les Miles has lost control of the death threats. If not for the way he has managed his offense in the last 8 out of the last 9 years since the '07 season, he wouldn't have shoddy QB play on display causing some of these psychopaths to send death threats to college athletes.

I mean, but seriously, why was Jaime Howard throwing the ball anyway. Just run the freaking ball. What a shite show that was.

Hell IMO it would be worth the money to get the FBI and NSA involved to track down these people that send these death threats to college athletes....that is if LSU isn't pursuing this already.
