During the SEC Coaches Teleconference on Wednesday, Ed Orgeron was asked about the CMU game when officials placed the ball on the wrong 45-yard line, which shorted the Tigers 10-yard.

Orgeron acknowledged that it happened and said the coaches should have caught it.

So you think the coaches have to be low iq to assume the ball is spotted correctly

Dumb fanbase to believe that one person needs to be held accountable for everyone else’s mistakes when he’s focused on trying to beat the crap out of a team no one believes he can beat because they keep the “shrimp boat captain” mantra going in their own simple heads! That’s our problem right now, not O. He just improved every level of our football team in one week like he’s supposed to do but gets zero credit for it. Then you wonder why we miss on some big OL prospects. He’s got to fight it all and he did so in 2019 in a big way but it’s deemed luck! Lol our fans are the dumbest.

I don’t understand how a ref and chain gang don’t catch it after they have to write the yard line down for the challenge

I mean frick, our coaches have a lot of shite going through their head and have responsibilities that shouldn’t have to include , “make sure the refs spot the ball correctly “

On the field, I could see the mistake, but SOMEONE in the booth should have noticed it.

Same day refs lost track of the downs and made Penn State punt on what should have been 3rd down. Stuff happens all the time, but this is bad...

Whether or not he should have caught it we can debate all day. But I do we think we all agree most coaches would have caught that.

No excuse. How can not one coach on the field or in the booth not see that? Being an inexperienced coordinator is not excuse. Or are they so overwhelmed in the booth that they can't pay attention.

How come none of the players raised holy hell? Are they that overwhelmed with getting the next play in?

You ever watch the Jordan Jefferson Les Miles offense?

I mean, maybe if it was coming on a field change at the end of a quarter or something, but just a first down play? Almost takes effort to screw that up.

Oh let me make a comment on the ref mishap I didn't even notice. LOL

fricking Derek came on here and saw people discussing the frick up. That’s what happened abs now that fat arse POS is getting credit from the shrimp boat captain.

It’s really hard to fathom how every person possible that should have caught this all missed it - coaches, players and refs alike.

Just like in 2009 when bama faced 4th and 6 LSU runs into punter, a 5 yard penalty, ref marks it off first down bama.

Yeah... that is not what happened in 2009. LINK 4th & 6 at 50 (9:18 - 4th) LSU penalty 5 yard roughing the kicker accepted. 4th & 1 at LSU 45 (6:58 - 4th) Mark Ingram rush for 2 yards to the LSU 43 for a 1ST down.

Why didn’t y’all catch it Ed? Why?!?!

the commentators caught it. I’ve always thought in instances of replay and for things line this, one person on staff should be listening to the broadcast of the game. Do the coaches always know when the DB that just got hurt is being replaced by a true freshman who is taking his first snap, so they know the replay may show a mistake as quick as the broadcast guys, etc.

it's an assumption to say the commentators caught it. Probably one of their staff caught it or someone back at headquarters.

$12 million dollar coaching staff and this happens. My 13 year caught it during the game, but this staff didn't. Smh

Shame neither you nor your "13 year" can coach, nor do anything else to help LSU win football games.

Sid makes fun of my typo, but used a triple negative. A rare feat.

The commentators VERY MUCH caught it immediately for those of us not in Tiger Stadium last Saturday night.
