Former LSU head coach Brian Kelly recently appeared on the USA Today "Sports Seriously" podcast and was asked if Lane Kiffin would win a National Championship with the Tigers.
quote:

"I think so," Kelly said. "That wasn't yes... Here's why I would say yes, okay, I think that they have invested in NIL for him. They have given him the opportunity. There's a lot of good things moving in that direction. The recruiting classes are really in solid shape. And I think Lane's a really smart football coach, so I think it's in a really good place, and I believe because there's an investment in that NIL, he's going to be able to be Lane Kiffin.”

"And that's important. He's not going to take the 18-year-old kid and develop him all the way through the ranks. And that's fine. Because that's what they wanted. I think with those things in place, he can win the national championship."

LSU should have mandated a gag order with his buyout.

"College" football is just so different than it was just 5 or 6 years ago. It's a completely different roster management environment. Adapt or die.

Kelly has done more “work” being on 3-4 interviews then he did 3 years of “coaching”….he should not be allowed to talk about LSU unless he says yes I stole millions of dollars and did very little work! Lazy Slacker!

Who the hell did he do this with? His best player during his tenure was a transfer.

No excuse for CLK not to win the conference next year at a minimum.

High school recruits being developed by you leave just as easy as transfers. The old way of cfb has fallen to the wayside. The programs that stick to it are the Clemsons of the world. I don’t love it but that’s how it is.

Why would anyone ask this loser?

Wait? Is he implying that the reason why things fell apart is because of philosophical differences of him wanting to develop players but LSU didn’t. Jesus H Christ.

It’s quite a treat not to have to listen to his nonsense anymore. Late 2026 is going to be fun.

or, you could say Kelly's NIL mismanagement resulted donors feeling they had to increase NIL

he had everything that lane has in his day, got lucky with j, but didnt have the work ethic that lane has learned the hard way, part thru the Granddaddy GOAT of CFB, which WE helped create, i always take credit for him, WE DID!……….. and he wussed out of the greatest opportunity in the history of sports…… and to play politics still….. with MY PROGRAM AND MY PEOPLES!!!! ……the further i get from u brian, the stronger the smells gets……
peace be with U

Other things aside, I actually think that Lane can and will take high school recruits and develop them. Probably better than Kelly did.

I think so too... But instead of these 25-30 freshman classes, Lane will have15-20 guys. But they will be much higher, "can't miss" type of recruits. He can find depth and fill gaps in the portal.

How would he know? You have to put in the effort.

BK had comparable NIL with other teams during his tenure at LSU. So if that's what he's trying to imply that he didn't, he can GSAD.

Did BK tell Lane that we are spoiled?
