Matt Bush-USA TODAY Sports
LSU quarterback Brandon Harris joined the "Culotta and the Prince" radio show on Baton Rouge's ESPN104.5 Thursday morning and spoke about a variety of topics surrounding the Tigers heading into the 2016 season. Per The Advocate:
quote:

“The most important thing is consistency. I think you can see that we’re trying to go for it and hit this thing post-bowl game and the things we’ve done in the spring. The sky’s the limit. If we can stay healthy and continue to be consistent in our approach and what we’re trying to do – obviously I think we’ve got a great scheme – when we’re on and able to execute, I think we’re going to be dangerous to stop.”
Harris also spoke about NBA superstar LeBron James, and how he wants to duplicate his leadership skills to help the team in 2016.
quote:

“One thing I did take away from the finals,” Harris said, “LeBron (James) was telling his guys, ‘Be a star in your role, wherever that’s at.’

“Whether that’s me trying to help the quarterbacks … Regardless of if I’m trying to be the leader of the team, we’ve still got young quarterbacks in the room, whether that be Lindsey Scott, who’s coming in and he’s a freshman. We’re trying to help him. All of the quarterbacks in the room is trying to help everybody.”

Funny dichotomy. A winning program, with losers as its fans.

I don't know if a Les offense can ever succeed against Bama anymore, but hopefully we'll have enough passing game to beat everyone else.

I can see it now - 6/15, 89 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT

No Pass Protection-Tempo-Spread/Slow & Predictable: BH was shellacked & injured by ALA's unblocked Cyrus Jones on a 40 yd 2nd Qtr TD to Dural. LSU O-line gave up 5 hard sks that game, 8 hurries and 5 more sacks to ARK who had averaged >1 sk/game. 1st time in back-to-back games since 2009, only 9th 5+ sack game under Miles. Harris was hurried on half of his dropbacks. Alexander on O Line collapse: O different from D, 1 guy whiffs and the play is dead. No one blamed Harris for 3 game beatdown. 'Speed it up and spread it out' then Harris = Watson.

maybe a stretch but.....standing in the road waiting for a car to hit you is dangerous. standing in the defensive backfield waiting for leonard fournette to truck your arse is dangerous.

I think he's going to be good this year, and I love his confidence. But why couldn't he have just said, "we're going to be dangerous" or, "we're going to be tough to stop" so my mind wouldn't be constantly rolling over "we're going to be dangerous to stop" and shitting itself?

So basically the exact thing every starting LSU an has said during the off-season for the last 20 years

The only way they are better this year is if Craig turns out to be a home run coaching hire, and has transformed Harris as well as the WR's. Les and Cam aren't suddenly going to become great offensive coaches, so that's the only way I see it happening.

I can be very anti-Miles. But I try to be optimistic as long he's our coach and pulling in awesome talent. I don't think Les is a good offensive coach at all, but they did pull off 2013. We have some talent and experience pretty close to 2013 on offense. Just saying it's not impossible.

And they still lost to Bama and they were still irrelevant in December.

Dpizz450, 2013 has proved an aberration and I have to think it was mostly due to NFL players at QB, WR, and RB. It took all that elite talent just to make the offense click, but it still sputtered against Bama.

I think LSU is going to be really good this year but mainly due to the defense. Harris looked dynamic at times last year and downright bad at other times. I still think he can improve his game and be a great asset for LSU. If he does it will be tough for anyone to beat LSU.

Love the quote about helping out the younger quarterbacks. Lambeau can't come soon enough!

What does "dangerous to stop" even mean? Stopping LSU will be a bad thing for someone to do?

This team is dangerous to stop if Harris is more consistent throwing the ball, and the playcalling allows him to get into a rhythm. We need more slants and quick routes with run/pass options.

Didn't Harris basically say the same thing last year? But we all know with Miles being the HC the same offense is what we are going to get year after year. He talked about the importance of consistency. While that is a good point, but the real question is: how can anyone achieve offensive consistency when your opponent pretty much can predict your exact next play call?

"I think we’re going to be dangerous to stop.” Not if Leslie calls the plays and continually runs it up the middle against Alabama, Ole Miss, and Florida.

Obvious that consistency and doing your job is preached so often. It's at every corner with this team.

I was thinking the same thing. The other team is doing itself a disservice if they stop LSU.

I really think Harris is going to be good this year. He was undefeated and VERY efficient before suffering a sports hernia last year. And that was in his first year as a true starter. This team is going to be good fellas. Enjoy the ride.

It is time for Harris to step up and be the QB LSU needs him to be. If Harris can be just average LSU should go a long way.

eugene1928LSU100 months
He has to be much better than average and more consistent on 3rd down. If not we'll be similar to last year. Of course he'll only be as good/great as the offensive line.

F**k being average I want him to ball out. I see a path of destruction through the schedule.
