Chuck Cook-USA TODAY Sports
Bleacher Report released their "College Football Preseason Top 25 at the Start of Fall Camp" this week and pegged LSU at No. 5. Here's what they said about the Tigers:
quote:

They could be fourth, and they might be fifth. Either way, the reigning national champions will probably start behind Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State in the poll. It's easy motivation for LSU to use.

Granted, that's a reasonable range on paper. LSU lost record-smashing quarterback Joe Burrow and 13 others who were selected in the 2020 NFL draft. To suggest they—and brilliant assistants Dave Aranda and Joe Brady—will be painlessly replaced is to undervalue what those players accomplished in Baton Rouge.

But it certainly helps to have All-American wideout Ja'Marr Chase and cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. to build around.

LSU will turn to Myles Brennan at quarterback and aim to prove a No. 4 or No. 5 preseason ranking wasn't high enough.
Top 10:
1. Ohio State
2. Clemson
3. Alabama
4. Georgia
5. LSU
6. Oklahoma
7. Florida
8. Penn State
9. Texas
10. Texas A&M

For so long, I always based each season on whether Alabama would lose a game or two. This past season was such a dream come true. Just once, would like to see Nicky not get most of the five stars and all the hype. Always good to hate the gumps

Ohio St and Clemson will roll through the Big Ten and ACC respectfully without either one of them breaking a sweat. The SEC teams will all beat up on and eliminate each other from post season. I’m calling it, Tennessee breaks the Bama streak this season (if a season is played at all).

Out of the 9 other teams in the top 10, LSU played and beat 7 of them last year. That's fricking amazing.

My top 5 would be Ohio State Clemson LSU Alabama Florida Imo these 5 teams are ahead of the rest. Myles B will be a top 3-4 QB in the SEC. I don’t think these people understand that even if MB throws for 1000 to 1500 less yards than Burrow we would still be in the 4K range with a more aggressive defense with more depth. We also added a couple of leaders in the off-season. One each on the OL and the front seven. STs will be very good again. If the defense can provide more sacks, scores and TOs then we won’t need as much offense to be just as dominant.

Similar lineup as last year until LSU beat this year's #3 and embarrassed' #2 & # 4. # 1 escaped a similar fate by not playing the Tigers. LSU coaches say defense will be better this year. Bring it on.
