LSU sophomore guard Eric Gaines is entering the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to multiple reports.

Gaines, a sophomore from Lithonia, Ga., is the ninth player to enter the transfer portal since Will Wade was fired earlier this month.

The former four-star prospect played in 34 games this season with eight starts and averaged 9 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 2.1 steals per game. Gaines led the SEC in steals with 70 on the season.

This one hurts. Gaines has been my favorite player for the last 2 years

So no one plays for their school anymore! Got it!

This is obviously the plan. Clear the bench so to speak. If we are hit with penalties then no harm. But it does say 1 thing, these players were not dedicated to LSU. They were dedicated to a coach or themselves.

How come when wade was hired you didn't have all the players who were here wanting to transfer

Are you serious? Was Wade coming into level 1 allegations? Get a clue man.

Is it true that the LSU basketball student trainer has also entered the portal? Asking for a friend.

And they will be gone by today. Should have just packaged them all at once on Monday. Save this daily drip.

This is what I been saying all along , a coach leaves you replace the coach. When nine players leave you now have a problem. I'm not against them choosing to leave but they should sit the next season. I know the saying is if a coach leaves the players should have a choice to do same. Bull crap let's say players want to rebel against a coach and threaten to leave or is tampered with and tempted with more nil frick em let them sit a year at next school. This balances out and keeps players honest. I just don't believe a program should be ruined like this. Just the way I think about it.

The AD new what was going to happen. Chose to bring in his guy anyway. This athletic administration fired their coach in way to make sure they didn’t make a tournament run, I wouldn’t stick around either. Administration decided to take this path.

He may have been high risk/high reward, but he was the most frustratingly entertaining player to watch all year. Never knew what was going down when he was on the court. A dumb turnover or an incredible steal and dunk. Loved and hated watching this guy!
