New head coach Matt McMahon landed his first high school commitment at LSU on Thursday from three-star center Corneilous Williams.

The 6-10, 195-pound prospect from Hickory, N.C. (Moravian Prep) was originally committed to McMahon at Murray State but reopened his recruitment this week. Now he's headed to Baton Rouge instead.

Williams is McMahon's third commitment at LSU as transfers Kendal Coleman and Justice Hill signed with the Tigers earlier this week.

LSU has had eight players enter the transfer portal since Will Wade was fired earlier this month. Tari Eason and Darius Days will also be leaving to enter the NBA Draft.

You get a coach with an eye for talent and a knack for blending it together, we may be competitive next season. Just need one guy to find that next gear and lead the team

With the looming sanctions and mass exodus of current LSU players what do you expect? I would imagine the next couple of years most of our players will be guys that would never have played SEC ball. Look for a lot of division 2 and community college guys. On the plus side, it gives a young, not as elite player a chance to run against the big boys

And Efton Ried was a 5 star who I think will eventually be a good player but come on Reid a 5 star oh and by the way I believe Tari Eason was a 3 star coming out of high school out that work out

better these 3 stars that stay and work their a$$es off than those 5 star divas that come for a year and declare or transfer!!!

Those 0-star, 1 star and 2 star players from St. Peters and Miami worked out pretty well when they bounced Auburn and Kentucky in the NCAA tourney

So we may have five guys on the roster after all.??

Just like with football team last few games,I’d rather have 3star guys that play TOGETHER than 5 star prima Donna’s who transfer if something wrong. See Eli Ricks

This is a whole different situation. Wade didn’t have players quit during the season like O did. These kids gave everything they had to him and Woodward cared more about his ego and reputation than he did about them and their coach.

DMC...they were gonna sanction the piss out of the school...dont you see that shit? You care that much about the frickin basketball program that you would risk the football program too? The frick we talking about right now. Wade made that bed being stupid and got wiretapped like a dumbass. Now we are here.

I hold as truth there are about 15 actual LSU Basketball Fans on TD. The rest are trolls.

These people are clowns. Level 1 allegations that will probably put the keep the program out of postseason for a couple of year and they expect McMahon to sign 5 stars.

Well, well. Our new guy is bringing in Murray State level talent. Certainly, he understands the difference between playing for Murray State and LSU.

I mean the guy was 2-3 in the NCAA tournament with Murray St players so the guys he had there weren’t that bad. And this year they were beat out in the 2nd round by St. Peter’s and they tuned out to be pretty good. Also, he and his staff must have a pretty good eye for talent bc they managed to find a kid named Ja Morant that wasn’t ranked by recruiting services and he turned out to be a decent ball player.
