I'm sure there was a softer way to tag this runner at home. But unfortunately this catcher didn't come up with it in time and laid this kid out...

On further review, why the hell did that kid try to steal home? He didn't look fast at all. Nice coaching at 3rd base.

kids' baseball is NOT full contact football! Catcher kid should at very least be banned or disciplined in some way, maybe for one game or whatever.

?!?! I agree the runner is supposed to attempt avoiding the catcher by stepping around or sliding. The catcher however was required to make full contact with the ball and protect that ball throughout the contact. he did a great job and the only thing he made contact with was his glove and the ball.

Looks like perfect execution on the catchers part. He can't help it if Brayden is built like a bitch!

20 bucks says if that runner plowed over the catcher those parents wouldn't have said anything.

Nice clean heads up play by the catcher. The screaming parents at the end are hilarious. "Heyyyyy!" "That's uncalled for" "Really?" LMBO. FWIW the batter should have stepped back out of the box also and if the runner made it home untagged should have been called out due to batters interference.

I mean... the runner had momentum to his advantage, but he just bounced off the catcher like he ran into a wall. I'm sure he'll get a participation trophy anyway.

baserunner could have dropped a shoulder. poorly coached

He would have been ejected too, runners must attempt to avoid contact, he can slide, run around or jump over him. He can't initiate contact. In this instance I think the catcher did nothing wrong he stuck his glove out with the ball in it and the runner runs right into him.

Perfect form by the catcher. Ball in his hand and in the glove and in front of the plate. The runner should have tried to dodge the tag and not try to run through someone wearing protective gear

people sign their kids up for sports proceed to cheer for them like they are pit bulls in a ring then get pissed off when something like that happens

You have to protect yourself at all times in sports. What was runner thinking? Well, he'll know next time.

I mean, if the catcher didn't keep his momentum going forward, the baserunner would have done the same to him. I don't know what those women are freaking out about. Kid should have ran harder

What was that filmed with? A Nokia from 1990?

But they would have cheered if roles were reversed. Good for that catcher.

Love it. If you steal home, better be ready to take a hit

But if the base runner would have plowed into the catcher...it would have been "Awesome" by Mom. I got trucked on time but the guy was out...next time he rounded 3rd, I stood my ground and I delivered the lick. Opposing coach told the player, "You give and you get, that's life son...suck it up". He looked at me and said, "Good play". There is no room in sports for snowflakes.

I see nothing wrong with that. He didn't steam roll the kid, the kid just bounced off of him.

In just about every level of baseball (MLB, College, on down), catcher would be automatically ejected. Can't do that anymore.
