Vandy Kicker Sarah Fuller Posted This To Those Hating On Her 'Player of the Week' Nod
© Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports
Vanderbilt kicker Sarah Fuller made history over the weekend becoming the first woman ever to officially take the field during a football game in a major conference football game. Her only action was a 30-yard kick to start the second half. So when she won SEC's "Special Teams Player of the Week," the internet trolls came a knocking. So, she hit them with this...

Take that, internet.

I am confused. She "earns" a football award and then posts a video about a sport no one watches?

Spot on. Exactly what I thought, followed by "I need to get my scissors sharpened".

Not to be a douche, but she's inside the arc (at mid field) ? I've scored from that position on a line drive

And she was kicking with the wind at her back. You can see the flags stretched out whipping in the wind.

It was a about 50-55 yds in the air from where she kicked it. Not a bad kick, but a nice, softer, round sphere compared to kicking a dimpled egg shaped and awkward ball. Very different Phenomenal athlete either way. Congrats to her, as the award all are crying about had more to do with a milestone in the sport than a specific athletic achievement. And, at the end of the day WGAF, players of the week awards are meaningless pats on the back. Espn top 10 has more merit.

Was anybody questioning her soccer skills in their comments?

I hope they rosy her for posting a soccer clip. I mean that’s great and all, that doesn’t say shite for you football kicking ability. We actually saw what they were like on live tv.

If this girl would’ve just been one of the humble, quiet types that just wanted to play football to prove something to herself, I would’ve respected that. Her incessant chirping and the story I read about her “inspirational” halftime speech just makes me want her to go away already. Yet, the lies to prop her up continue. For starters, that’s a soccer ball, not a football. And no, she did not kick it “nearly the length of the field.” She’s almost at midfield for goodness sake.

It is not her fault. She had 1942 reporters in her face, screaming "Ermagerd Girl!!!!You are history and the pinnacle of womankind," etc. She got caught up in all of the fake, manufactured hoopla. They are playing like she is equal to Neal Armstrong. This will all settle down and she will return to her everyday life.

Girl gets feeling hurt and then makes a counterpoint with no logical connection? (That never happens....)

That is fine but messed up squib kick/onside kick/ pooch kick does not earn anyone, regardless of gender, SEC STPOW. Recognize her, fine but not like that.

"We want to be treated just the same as the boys!" 1 day later..."Yay! They gave me a trophy because they wanted to treat me differently than the boys!" SMDH. What an insult to ACTUAL female athletic accomplishments.

She probably only posted that because a large group of people criticized her athletic ability in their comments. What she fails to realize is that the majority of people are upset with her award because it's a merit based award given to someone who didn't deserve it for their on field FOOTBALL accomplishments.

Exactly. Her playing is fine / commendable if she can handle it, but to give an award for doing nothing on the field is unacceptable.

I’m surprised an accomplished D1 athlete would fall for this farce. Every D1 athlete got there on merit. She should know better....and should be embarrassed

This whole thing was a publicity stunt to save Mason's job, and it didn't work. Little girls aren't stupid. When they see this lame kick and are told that it means they "can accomplish anything they want," they just roll their eyes. It's absurd, and the media is only feeding this story for views.

LSU used to have a kicker named Juan Carlos Betanzos. He was aboot equal to her.
