Should I give it a try? What makes it better the all of the other seafood restaurants we have in the Northshore?
ETA. I have no idea about this place and that's why asked. I don't get why people down vote a question about a restaurant asked on the Food and Drink board. Seemed like the perfect place to inquire. I would have been better off asking the OT.

It’s where a lot of people in Covington go for seafood if they don’t want to cross I-12. There aren’t a ton of options otherwise

From what I gather from the responses its a place that caters to black people. If that is true why open up in Covington?
I looked at the menu, it's not exactly cheap.

OP, fiery crab is a local chain serving imported seafood slathered in industrial lubricants. You’d be better off eating at a gas station. And yes, in most locations the clientele is overwhelmingly black

One of the benefits of living in south Louisiana is that we have excellent restaurants that serve fresh local seafood. We don’t need to eat seafood in national chains.

It's not a national chain. The corporate headquarters are in Lafayette, LA. Apparently The Fiery Crab is Lafayette's answer to Red Lobster based on some of the responses to my OP.

It’s crazy.
Legit good seafood places like Evangeline Seafood and Guidry’s Reef closed down, yet when I go pick up a pizza at Pizza Village, seems there’s always cars at freaking Fiery Crab.

I went to the one in Denham Springs not too long ago. If you go, go on the 23rd of the month. Buy a tshirt for $10 and get buy 1 get 1 free on the 23rd of every month provided you are wearing the shirt. The food is not terrible. The shrimp was not overcooked and peeled nicely.
