YouTube tv — any reason to not do it?

Thanks for any insight regarding it.
The only thing I really see that it doesn’t have that we do enjoy is the history channel.

It's expensive, and your bill will probably increase by another 10 or 20 this year.

Well it looks like that and starlink together will be half the price of what we currently have. We’re probably the last to have cable lol.
But I’m done with them for that and Internet.
Good to know that the increase should be expected though.

At least compare it to Hulu w/ Live and other options. My GF has YTTV with Sunday Ticket, and was still unable to watch all of her team's games without Amazon and one other purchase; I had to cast games from my phone to her TV, since I have Hulu w/ Live, Paramount, Peacock, etc. That's for regular season games.
Ultimately, it doesn't matter. Get your 30 days, work it hard, and cancel and switch. Do create an inventory of shows you and your wife record/watch, and for anything currently running, record which episode y'all have watched up to. You can use a service like Trakt or Reelgood to do this independent of platform, but it will make you less scared to change if YTTV doesn't work as well as you want it to.

starlink isn't as good as cable internet but I understand the frustration. You'd be better off working with cable tech support to fix your cable internet connection than with Starlink.

Books? Between the constant price increases and woke agenda, I just cancelled everything. If I can't put it on plex, I ignore it. For sports I just go to the bar and use their TV.

The problem is when it goes out. We were without for 48 hours this past weekend with that little storm that came through.
Was an inconvenience at most but when you work from home at times you need reliable .. and it’s freaking expensive.

Expect plenty of outages with Starlink. My parents have it. Heavy midwest rains take it out. They have seen outages from 5min to 45min depending on the storm. It is great for places with no options but they would kill for a cable internet option.

I cut the cord a decade ago and haven't looked back. After using all the services, YouTubeTV is where we landed and have been on it for about 4 years. Interface is great and the app works great on phones or tablets.
You also now get to link it with your ESPN+ account so you can ditch that subscription cost.
I'm on old cable internet too. We had a new line run from the box to the house for $250 and had them run a new wire in the house to my modem. Fixed all my issues.

Our good friends owns an independent fiber service. He told my husband that with starlink live tv at times will buffer. True or no? I’ve not heard this from the few people I’ve talked to but figured I’d ask here.
He’s not trying to us his service as it’s not available in our area.

The best reason not to get cosy with YTTV is that they have no problem turning off ABC/ESPN/SEC network right in the middle of football season.

It depends on area. Some starlink areas are getting congested and evenings bandwidth can get as low as 5-10Mbps. If you are in one of those areas, you can very well run into streaming issues.

There's a sports package now you can pay for and it's a little cheaper. I usually turn it on and off once football season begins and ends. Best one that I've used
