Saddle. Mathews Phase 4.

I had to watch 5 does and 3 fawns feed around a tree 50 yards from me yesterday. Switched up to where I can shoot at that tree or hopefully if they travel to the tree I hunted yesterday.

Good luck! Draw back for me. I’m stuck in Missouri for work at the moment.
However, I did get invited on a rifle hunt yesterday when I come back in November. Considering taking up the offer.

Thats why I'm out here. Takes the pressure off. I probably won't get to hunt much late season.

Just watch two coons mosey through the woods together like best friends. They climbed a big arse gum tree and halfway up they started fighting and fell out. Nice to have some early entertainment.

First sit of the season for me. This is the latest I’ve started in quite a few years. I started a business back in the spring and I’ve either been working, or exhausted from working and haven’t felt like going. I was thinking about doing some hunting last weekend, but got invited on a fishing trip to Bussey, and decided to do that instead. It paid off though. I caught a 9-6, and a 6-2. Haven’t seen any deer yet, so I’ll post a picture from last weekend. Good luck

Shot a doe about 15 minutes ago. Shot looked good and there's a lot of blood but it looks dark af. Going to give it a few hours and come back with my dog.

Had to wait and get permission from the neighboring landowner. She was about 40 yards over the line. Arrow went in at last rib and buried in the far shoulder. Idk how she made it 150 yards like that.

She was running dead for 150 yards, no doubt. Congrats

Area 2
Mathews V3X 33 with SEVR hybrids
Lock on top overlooking cornfield, hardwoods and bayou to my back.

Wanted to get up and hit public, but I was tired so slept till 6. Figured, what the heck and went on private land close to the house. Got set up by 7:30.

A decent but young 6-point came behind me at a little after 8. He was pretty, but clearly 2.5 years old. Decent rack. I watched him for a bit before he meandered off. I had 2 does come through around 9:30 but that was it. I was hoping for an 8-point I have on camera to come through.

Got down and checked my camera on the other side of the property and there’s a really nice 9-point that showed up. New target buck!

I’m back out there again after putting some sticks and platform near where that camera is. Hopefully he shows up.

St. Tammany
Phase 4 in a gum tree. 74ish degrees.

Wanted to hunt this AM but needed to do some other things. Naturally the deer moved all morning. It’s a nice afternoon here though. Much more still than yesterday. Deer on their feet elsewhere on the property so hoping something slips up.
