This is fricking awesome.

Public hangings actually served a purpose in the old times before we allowed ourselves to become soft and feminized.

It provides the catharsis that is required in tandem with justice.

Sarcasm?

Either way it isn’t being done as a mid term gimmick. His execution is scheduled for December.

Makes it even more based imo. They’re doing it because it’s the correct choice and not for votes

They did public hangings more to give people something to do than as a deterrent for crime

Imagine living in a country where the crime element was Scottish people

The public is being primed for live executions and trials, and I'm here for it.

MAGA people will watch it. The women probably won’t. No one else will watch it.

Dude shot up an army base killing 13 people and injured 28 more

His crime is against America as a whole, not simply the victims families

No, on obvious ones like this and being that he agreed to the UCMJ, light his arse up and make it a spectacle. The jihadi guys will think he’s a martyr regardless. It’s good that the rest of us can get some cathartic release of seeing it happen.

Disagree. The guy that shot up Ft Hood is no doubt a shitbag and I certainly won’t shed any tears once he is gone, but I don’t think further desensitizing the public to violence via execution is going to serve the public good.

What is available now for public consumption vs generations ago is pure filth and a large segment of Society and the political class leading this country lacks any moral compass. Televising or streaming a man getting shot to death live, even if it is just carrying out a sentence, is a sad commentary on where we are as a society.

Well you've never seen one so I'm not sure where you get your expertise.

I will say that my grandfather went to one and said it was the most ghastly thing he'd ever seen and that he'd never forget it, nor would anyone else who was there. This was from someone who spent 3 years fighting the Japanese and lost a lot of friends over there. If he thought the hanging was worse, it obviously made the desired impression.

I’d argue by that time the professionalism was gone because of lack of hangings so it was more brutal because all the good hangmen aged out

The guys that ran the Nuremberg operation were just regular soldiers that claimed they knew how to do it and most of the hangings were botched

They need to take their time and start by shooting at the foot and work their way up and it put it on pay-per-view then donate all the money to our veterans

We can agree to disagree over your disagreement.

The public needs to actually witness justice being served to believe in the justice system. The truth thrives in daylight, and lies flourish in the dark.

I have no desire to watch an execution, but I’m sure I will see it in the course of the nation debate in order to form an informed opinion and argument.
