U.S. Citizens are required to understand English. Why are there translators at the Polls?

If tweet fails to load, click here. Under U.S. law (8 U.S. Code § 1423), no one may be naturalized if they cannot show an understanding of the English language, including the ability to read, write, and speak words in ordinary usage.

So natural born citizens of adult age are dumber than naturalized citizens? Is that your argument?

I’ve once experienced that language issue on a phone call for utility services. Or was it a help line for reporting outages on something? Maybe it was a governmental agency that needed calling that directed me to provide information on talking

No. Someone speaking a different language doesn't make them dumb. There are Spanish only speakers who are natural born citizens. Most of them are smarter than you.

Two things I'm sick of hearing in this country...Somalis and Muslim terrorists.
Wish we were rid of both!

We have 20 to 40 million illegal immigrants here with that many they don’t need to speak any English. In certain parts of metro Atlanta if you speak Spanish or Korean there is no need to learn one single word of English. We did this to ourselves.

Blind people or people who have problems standing should be the only ones who have anybody standing with them in the booth.

why are we bending over backwards to allow non-English speaking, non-citizen terrorists to decide our country's future?
imagine going to Somalia and demanding their taxpayers support you and they provide a translator so you can determine which warlord is in power.
WHY are we doing this to ourselves?
