Hitachi's official announcement confirms the investment as its largest ever in the U.S., aimed at expanding domestic production of grid infrastructure to support rising electricity demand from data centers, manufacturing, and electrification, with production starting in 2029.
The company cites alignment with Trump administration goals for American manufacturing, energy dominance, and supply chain resilience, alongside long-term U.S. investments exceeding $14 billion since 2020.
