who saw the ending of the 6th sense coming

im sure this has been a thread before but just wondering. it was weird with me because I didnt see the whole movie and then I heard about how crazy the ending was on here and so I assumed that the ending was what it was based on that and I was right. so I kinda guessed it

I guessed it about halfway through, but I had a semi-spoiler going in... I was fresh off watching Jacob's Ladder and The Usual Suspects not long before I saw Sixth Sense. I told a friend I was about to watch Sixth Sense and he said "heh, nice twist..." so I was on the lookout for it the whole time and it finally clicked about halfway through.
I felt like Sherlock Holmes even though it was perfectly lined up for me.

You have to remember that twists like that weren't a normal thing back then like they are now. So the VAST majority of people who now claim that they knew or guessed it during the movie are full of shite.
Sure, maybe a few here and there legitimately did. But most didn't, of course.
Even you and the other person in this thread who said y'all guessed it both had outside hints about the movie that fed the twist to you.

I remember being incredibly pissed because some mouth-breathing journalist wrote an article about Alabama at that time, and it was something like, "an incredibly popular movie came out recently, and it turns out the main character was dead all along- opposite to Mike Dubose's Alabama team, which was left for dead and has been revived..." so I knew ahead of time.

I was 7 when Sixth Sense came out, obviously didn't see it then but by the time I did, the twist was very well known even just through overhearing and passive conversations.
Even if you weren't aware of what the twist exactly was, most were absolutely aware of the existence of a twist. At that point, it's not difficult to notice Bruce Willis only talks to HJO after the opening scene.
I'd put Usual Suspects, Fight Club and The Prestige in the same category, (where everyone knows there is a twist even if they don't know what, exactly). Fight Club and Prestige handle it WAY better than Sixth Sense and Usual Suspects

I was was a kid when I first saw it (and it was a few years after it was released) so did not expect it at all. If I had waited to watch it as an adult, probably. Never mind the clues, there were a lot of things about Willis' character that just didn't add up, like why nobody else ever acknowledged or interacted with him, why his wife seemed to completely ignore him, why he was able to move through scenes without anyone actually responding to him, etc.
I will say, even as a kid, there was something off in the brief shot of Malcolm sitting in the living room with Cole's mom and both characters were staring forward as if they had been momentarily deprogrammed or something. As an adult, that's the moment my brain would have started piecing it together.

For Usual Suspects, it's kind of like SS. You go in knowing there's a twist, the entire movie is based on one guy's recollection in an office and that guy just so happens to be Kevin Spacey. All of these things wouldn't be present when watching in 1995, but watching in 2012? Yeah.
What gave SS away to me was the dinner scene with the wife. Her demeanor made no sense as presented, no reason why she was 'mad' or even an explanation as to why she was cold with Bruce Willis. And then you notice that she hasn't said a word to him since the opening scene... and then you notice no one else has but the boy who can see ghosts.
I wouldn't have picked up on it if I hadn't been previously aware of the twist
Fight Club has so much going on and they have Tyler interacting with other characters, interacting with Norton physically, etc. It's near impossible to notice anything's off in the same way that US and SS had.
The Prestige offers so many potential points of twist, even going into the metaphysical but the actual twist is so stupidly simple that viewers abandon that kind of explanation long before Tesla shows up.

Kinda sorta but would you have guessed it if you didn't know ahead of time there was a twist ending?
To me it's hard to say I guessed something if I already know going in there is going to be a rug pull. I mean yeah I may guess the right twist but would I be even thinking to search for one if I wasn't previously told it would happen?

The ending completely took me by surprise.
My girlfriend at the time had already seen the movie but wanted to go with me to watch it again. When the twist happened, I said something like "You've gotta be fricking kidding me" which made her and the people around me laugh.
