I have more hours in Xcom2 than probably any other game ever. Looking forward to this one.

Final trailer released today and it looks great. It even shows Rex is in the game. Other glimpses have me further convinced the narrative is going to take us past order 66. I am genuinely looking forward to this one.

I’ve been looking for good turn based strategy games that scratch the xcom itch and nothing has done it for me. Seeing something similar that is Star Wars? Count me in.
I did thoroughly enjoy wasteland 3, though, and have hundreds of hours in it. Kind of a cool mix of xcom and fallout.

Agree, I am totally stoked for this!!
Just curious, have you tried Jagged Alliance 3 yet? It's got pretty good reviews and I loved JA 2 (although I never got that far in it) but for some reason I've just had a hard time getting into 3.

Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader is pretty good.

I never buy games like this brand new, but I really enjoyed X-com and the Gears (of war) Tactics so this may be a day 1 purchase for me.
If anyone missed out on gears tactics, they did a great job making the genre feel immersed in the gears world and the abilities translated nicely with a chainsaw

I generally don't care for turn based games but played the hell out of Gears Tactics

I saw that some streamers on Twitch are doing sponsored streams tomorrow.
I'm not a Star Wars fan but I absolutely loved XCOM 2: WotC. Been looking for something to scratch that itch. I'm curious to see if I can just ignore the Star Wars part and enjoy the gameplay

The one review i skimmed through said its a lot easier than the xcoms (xcom veterans should jump into the higher difficulties immediately). And that battles can become a little repetitive - certain soldier types are more impactful than others. Once you figure out which ones, you can basically play every mission with the same types of soldiers over and over without having to switch things up. So it leaves a ton of soldier types & unit customization unexplored as you never really need the diversity.
They still gave the game a very high score even with those critiques.
My takeaway is that ill probably play the vanilla game a couple of times. But if modding this game is as popular as Xcom2, modders will do wonders with rebalancing. Thats where the 1000s of hours of replaying will come from.
