ESPN's Paul Finebaum is now crowning the new king of the SEC after Nick Saban's departure...

"I think as of today, Georgia is the best program in the SEC," Finebaum said, via Athlon. "They have the best coach in the SEC, and we've never been able to say that until this moment, but they do and I think they are among the many beneficiaries of Saban leaving. Just from a recruiting standpoint. They've already taken perhaps the most impactful coach from Saban's staff and Kirby Smart knows the Alabama playbook and he knows a lot of people there."

One team has won two of the last three national championships. The other team needed a mulligan to get an undeserved invitation to the playoffs this season, and hasn’t won a legitimate national title since 2015.

UGA was already the top program before Saban left, and had been for at least a year.
