Will be here a couple of nights this week for work and looking for dining recommendations. Can be either touristy or non. About to hit up the Lincoln memorial to take night time pics!

There was a table for 2 at a nice Italian place near the Capitol that was vacated last night.

Can get noisy, though.

Old Ebbitt Grill is next to the capital and pretty good. The Capitol Grill is really good and plenty expensive

for steakhouses I'd recommend any of the following

Joe's Seafood and Steak
Oceans Prime
Capital Grille

For small plates I've found these to be fantastic spots

Zaytinya(Greek-ish)
The Source(asian)
Proof('merican)
Doi Moi(southeast asian)
Estadio(spanish)
Jaleo(spanish)

If you're a whiskey fan, especially scotch you MUST go to Jack Rose. The food there is fantastic as well.

For an amazing dining/drink experience check one of the several michelin restaurants

Minibar(**)
Blue Duck Tavern(*)
Komi(*)

Minibar is great and is def a once every few years type of dining experience

The wife & I were there in Feb. We went to The Hamilton Live based on several recommendations. It’s great food & live music. About a block from The W.

Lots of excellent restaurants in D.C. Blue Duck Tavern was very good. Old Ebbit Grill is an old historic place with a fun bar and good food. Tosca has great Italian food. Rasaika for Indian food and Zaytania for Mediterranean. Central was also good. All of these places, except for maybe the Blue Duck, are an easy walk from the White House.

We enjoyed old Ebbit Grill so much we went twice. I think they improved the charbroiled oyster. (they add a little tasso)

Great oyster selection, good seafood with large portions. Historic location a stones throw from the White House.
The bar is amazing as well. A great place to sip an old fashioned and think about all the back room politicikin that went on there.

Me and my mother ate at Oyamel as well and liked it and American Eats, which is now closed. Oyamel was really good.

I've always enjoyed 1789 Restaurant in Georgetown.

Founding farmers near the White House. Their food is grown on farms throughout American but it’s pretty legit. Plus they have a nice bar too
