Having read the first 2 pages of this thread I have found the common denominator in most posts.

It's people. 95% of the "peeves" are caused by people.

If I could travel without other people I don't know that would be perfect.

People is one of the best things about traveling and at the same time, it's one of the worst.

#1 for me is idiots with zero awareness or give a shite walking in the airport.
- Stopping suddenly in places where there's a crowd of people all walking in that direction.
- Not paying attention when walking b/c you're playing on your phone or you think everyone has to move out of your way.
I've had enough of it. I'm a big guy. You want to run into me, fine by me. I'm tired of being the one always moving out of other peoples way b/c i'm considerate and have situational awareness. Just last week some woman shoulder checked me b/c she didn't want to move, and i didn't either b/c i had no where to go since i was walking close to a wall. I enjoyed it very much. I saw it coming, whether she did or not i don't really care.
- Dumbasses who rush to get in the tram before anyone gets off.
- idiots who stand on the moving walkway. Are you really that fricking lazy?

#2a would be dumbasses that are on a call with their phone speaker. Had some dumbass come sit next to me near the gate while she's on a call with her home girls. Really enjoyed all the cursing and cultural words being said over her speaker phone. I came very very close to reaching over and ending the call for her.
#2b would be the dumbasses that are on calls or scrolling ticky tock until they lose a signal after takeoff. Put your fricking phone in airplane mode when they tell you to.

#3 retards who can't sit still in their seat. I don't know what it was but last week on every single one of my flights there was a man sitting in front of me who was constantly moving. And for whatever reason every movement has to be jarring to his seat. Same with the person behind you using your seat to get his fat arse up.

Airport travel just reminds me of how many inconsiderate clueless idiots there are in this country.

Differing TSA policies at different airports.

(I have precheck and occasionally run into stuff like this)

“Put your items in individual bins.”

“NO DONT USE MULTIPLE BINS YOU IDIOT!”

“Hold onto your boarding pass.”

“Sir…sir…sir! PUT YOUR BOARDING PASS IN THE BIN!”

“Precheck? Ok go ahead and leave your hoodie on.”

“SIR! TAKE OFF YOUR HOODIE RIGHT NOW!”

My travel pet peeve: people who try to talk to me when I'm clearly reading on my fricking Kindle

Why the frick would I want to create small talk with random people in an airport/on a plane? Someone I don't know trying to have idle chat with me for nothing other than being in close proximity to me is without a doubt one of the rings of hell.

Cuse... buy the window seat! On many of my flights I don't open the window. I book the seat to lean against the wall and close my eyes. Also... you are a frequent flier yet you took a flight and forgot to know when you are about to land? There are like 7 indicators the flight is on the path down! You shouldn't need to see to know.

I will open my shade if I notice the person next to me or in the aisle is fidgeting and really seems to want to see - but that is normally on ascent or descent only. Rest of time, it is closed. And it is why I book window every time.

I really don't have too many pet peeves while traveling anymore. I let the idiots do their thing and I don't allow most of it to bother me. I travel too much to let stupidity ruffle me.

The few things that directly or physically affect me however... like many have mentioned when someone stops abruptly while walking. I am a fast walker in general and I have almost smoked so many people who do this in the airport.

My #2 would be loud talkers both in the airport and on the plane. This morning I had an early flight and the blonde next to me was talking to her friend in the row in front of us on volume 99. It was as though she was presenting to a board room.

I hate it when the hotel or STR has a worn out, saggy mattress.

I am prone to back issues, but I keep it together at home with exercise and my Tempur-Pedic bed. The main time I have a problem/spasm is when traveling and I have to sleep on a shitty bed.

Also, many hotels and STRs have chairs and couches with horrible ergonomics. The people who buy them should be forced to sit in them for at least an hour before they pull the trigger.

Travel Pet Peeves

As a strictly carry-on passenger, it is when I can’t get a boarding pass through the app and have to go to the check-in counter and wait behind people checking luggage in order to get one.

Only had this happen once or twice, but this is why I book hotels for work/professional trips over STRs, much easier to change rooms in a hotel if there is a problem with the accomodations,
