Is there a travel agent in BR that can book flights and hotels for me for cheap or reasonable? Or are all of them just travel package fillers?

I have found that I get the same or better prices using Google flights/skyscanner and just google the hotel you like and click the best rate.

Pick a hotel chain and stick with their loyalty programs. Google flights for airfare...but don’t forget to check Southwest for short domestic flights. Always book direct.

This has always worked for me and I have no headaches.

Trying to use points, comparing to google flights, comparing to available flights on direct sites versus other sites, etc.

surfing Hotels/VRBO/Air BNB. I book a bunch of travel but I'm getting fed up and just want someone to do it for me. there has to be someone that does this in 2021

To add another option (which you apparently don’t ha) check out Marriott vacations. They bundle a flight and room. You can find huge savings. I booked 4 nights and flight to Aruba for two people and it was $1,350 total. And that was a suite at a resort.

Just in case you don't (and I'm sure that you do), call your airlines' dedicated rewards tier desk and work with them.

I do that with American ExPlat and get a lot more options than researching online (which I agree, is frustrating).

Hell, same with Marriott. I call them, as well. "This is what I'm looking to do, I can see XYZ on the website" etc. They know how your rewards work and will usually take damn good care of you.

International flights you should always look at partner airlines. Better redemptions.

This isn't true, there are still some around. Travel agents can still be valuable depending on what you are looking for, and often times they earn their commission straight from where they book you without anything built in so it doesn't cost you much.

Given that, depending on where you book there are advantages. I've found deals on Expedia for Flights+hotels that were the same as I could book just a flight for, so basically got the hotel for free.

But booking direct through the hotels and airlines gets you highest priority

It's not that hard. It just takes some time. But people don't make money off doing that, so you may have a hard time finding it, especially at a relatively low priced option. I'm super good at doing this and finding best activities, etc. for my family on vacation. But I spend multiple hours per week reading travel websites. It's sort of a hobby. Maybe you need someone else in your family to do it? If you get tired of looking you aren't going to find the best deal. If you want the best deal, you won't get it from someone else planning your trip.

I would love to start a business (is there a need?) finding the perfect vacation for folks to meet their travel needs. But it would not be cheap! I could almost guarantee them the perfectly planned vacation.

Yeah it is mostly a time thing. My wife is not real good at deals when it comes to lodging. I finally booked everything today. Just pulled the trigger. Might have paid a bit more than if I'd taken more time, but I have invested about 4-5 hours into already.

I'm done.
