I am flying out of New Orleans on Spirit ( I got the big seats) Thursday morning at 7:30 AM nd return onTuesday evening. I have everything lined up but realized that I have not flown out of the new terminal. I am driving in from Baton Rouge and am shooting to arrive at 6 AM. What are my easiest options for parking?The old terminal used to have a garage that you could park and simply walk over a crosswalk to the terminal. Do they have this at the Spirit terminal and if not what are my easiest options?

There is still parking at the old terminal with a shuttle service to the new terminal. That is where I park when I fly.

Check first on Fly MSY and try to reserve spot in short or long term. Just to make sure they have spots. I’ve used both . Both are easy walks into the terminal. I paid $88 for 4 full days parking in long term a few weeks back. Note that it doesn’t appear that you can reserve a spot less than 24 hrs before the day of.

I've never had an issue with getting a spot in short term parking which is connected to the terminal.

Definitely go online and reserve the spot and prepay. They do fill up and you won't have a spot without a reservation.

I’ve never booked online, but I suppose that’s worthwhile.
Early morning is usually pretty good to get spots. But afternoon can go from 100 available spots to zero in really short order.
And yes, you can park short term instead of long term. It will just a cost a few more dollars per day

Can confirm: cannot, under any circumstances whatsoever. I couldn't even modify an existing reservation forward to start within 24 hours even though there was availability.
And I fricking called to ask when it wouldn't work online.

As a follow up, when you go on the App fly Msy and log in your dates, it shows you a comparison of all the parking from economy, surface, short and long term together.

Thanks guys. Couldn't reserve a spot but looks like plenty available. Should be good to go at 6am tomorrow.

I think what they do is black out high traffic days from prepaid reservations. I tried a week ago to reserve short term for this weekend and it wouldn’t let me, it this is the first time that’s happened.
I was resigned to parking in the ghetto garage but short term opened up again last night and I was able to get in when I arrived

You have to reserve your spot at least 24 hours in advance. The other week I had a 6am flight and tried to do it the night before and was blocked out. When I woke up, there were at least 700 spots available.
Anyone know if the surface lot is within walking distance as well? The signage around the airport made it appear that way, but I didn't look to see if it was a walk or a shuttle as I was in the ST lot

You can only reserve spots that begin at least 24 hours in the future. If the start time of the reservation is within 24 hours, it can't be made under any circumstances. To my knowledge, there's no limit to how far in advance a reservation can be made.

This. We flew out of MSY last year and reserved a spot so far in advance we forgot about it. Went to reserve a spot a month before the flight and it told us we already had a reservation for that time.
