Hope everyone is having a great weekend . Haven't seen a thread for memorial day travel so here we go.

I'll be headed back to Buffalo for the first time since I left a year ago. Plan is to get wings, a haircut (haven't found a good new barber by me yet), catch up with old coworkers, golf twice, bbq, pool/hottub, and potentially hit up my friend's camp. Flying there on Delta (SEA-ATL-BUF) and back on southwest (BUF-MDW-SEA). Hopefully I get bluegrass's flight crew not caring about masks on the way east and also no weather delays while enroute.

What is everyone else's plans for the long weekend?

I've found that if I fall asleep with my mask off no one wakes me up to tell me to put it back on

Yeah I'm not too worried about it, have a nice exit row on a 739 for the Seattle to Atlanta flight so unlimited legroom plus a tv to catch up on movies. Will have a big bottle of water next to me just in case

Driving up to do some whitewater rafting on the Ocoee and Chattooga Friday through Monday. From there heading up to Columbus, OH to go to The Memorial

I am being entirely honest with you. I had no idea it was Memorial Day weekend. My work doesn’t really acknowledge “holidays”

Sounds like fun and a good time to relax, make sure to take some pictures!

Dang... Well maybe that's better as you can take vacations during less busy travel times of the year? Sucks during those holidays but probably better in the fall or spring when everyone's in school and flights are cheap

Sorry I should clarify. They don’t really believe in “vacation days” either. No one takes off and when they do they get shite on for it.

I’ve taken two vacation days in the last two years and it was to go to the National Championship.

It’s a super healthy work environment.

Damn . I guess at least now a lot of people can "work" remotely so that solves some of the vacation issues. Are you in the office or at home?

We’re mostly working from home, slowly trickling back into the office.

I actually drove back to LA for almost 6 weeks from roughly Thanksgiving - Christmas, but never actually took a vacation day. Worked from the road and remotely back home

At this point I don’t need to even leave my apartment. I would just love to mentally shut down and put my phone away for a few days.

Gross. No amount of money is worth that attitude. Plenty of v lucrative fields and jobs with healthy vacay policies and beaucoup holidays. 14+ paid plus they tossed in two bonus floater days in 2021 bc 2020 sucked so much, it’s not too late to do something different.

Laying low for Mem Day itself but heading to Ozello/Crystal River Fl the following week for kayaking and fishing and general goofing off.

Go join Coater on the river or find a place with no service, maybe NH/ME?

Had to look up where this is, but looks like plenty of places to fish around there. Sounds like a fun week

Driving with some girlfriends to Rocky Point Mexico for a beach weekend. Condo rentals are really cheap there. We got a huge really nice condo at a really nice resort with a massive balcony overlooking the ocean. Only $200/night.

Know many here that go to Rocky Point all the time so know it’s fairly safe. It’s a 4 hour drive from PHX.

Essentially yes.

However, enough is enough and I’m looking forward to going to Puerto Rico in a week and a half to celebrate my wife’s 30th birthday.
