Margaritaville Resort Biloxi - Opinions Wanted

Opinions of this place? Kids are asking to go. I'm not a fan of water parks in general for obvious reasons. Has anyone been here and was it a good experience, or should I just suck it up and take the kids and enjoy ourselves?

It's more than a water park I thought?

I checked it out this past weekend to see if it would be a decent weekend getaway with the kids this summer. I thought it was kind of expensive for what you get.
Then again, I am a real cheap bastard so take my opinion for what its worth.

There’s a HUGE area for games. The slides will be fun for the kids if they use an inner tube. Otherwise, you’ll get stuck.

I am as well. What were your thoughts compared to suitable alternatives that they might enjoy?
Still not ruling it out... will probably end up going... just want to at least try to feel better about it

You should go on the weekend of April 2. I hear that's the best weekend to be down there.

We haven't stayed there as it's local and no need, but have taken our son several times to play inside and even had his Bday party there last year. The arcade area is HUGE with bowling and several other things as well as a few restaurants (better ones in close proximity).
I certainly wouldn't stay there without kids, but I bet your kids would love it.

We went last summer. It is enjoyable as a quick getaway with kids. If you have kids they will enjoy it.

We’ve been twice for quick visits to play the games as my kids are too old really for the little water area.
It can be expensive and it seems like it could turn into a shitshow with crowds on the weekends.
Not many good places on the gulf coast for stuff like this, so just go for it

frick the pool area, it’s gross. The arcade is pretty awesome. They have an epic bowling game. I could play that all day.
IDK how old your kids are, but there is a BOSS go-cart track over that way...it’s called Finishline.

We go once a year as my daughter's dance team does a competition in Biloxi, and most of the team stays there.
We usually check the kids out of school early on Friday, hit the road in order to get to the Beau for buffet dinner at 4 pm, then head down the street to Margaritaville (it's like 5 min from the Beau).
Friday night kids usually swim while the dance moms get hammered at the poolside bar and the dance dads usually congregate to watch a game.
Saturday we do the competition from very early until about 3 pm. Head back to Margaritaville, kids go to pool, at some point, kids take a break from pool and hit up arcade. Usually eat at the Margaritaville restaurant (it's not great but usually everyone is too tired to go anywhere else off-site - one time we did walk next door to the Golden Nugget for their buffet sat night dinner). Throughout the afternoon and evening, the dance moms get hammered at the poolside bar. Dance dads usually watch the dance moms and make sure the kids don't kill themselves.
Sunday, usually go find breakfast somewhere, head back to hotel, swim for a few more hours, then grab lunch somewhere on the way home.
We usually book it 9-10 months in advance (the competition is same weekend every year) so get it for about $200/night. Seems like a decent price.
Acrade can be expensive but they usually offer "eat and play" type deals. Also, if the weather forces the pool to close for more than an hour, they do discounts at the arcade.
2 days, once a year, is a good amount of time for it. I wouldn't do more.

Margaritaville Biloxi is undergoing a 200 million dollar upgrade.
That was from 2018. Did the upgrades ever get completed?

Holy shite, that’s a big fricking lie.

First off, this sounds like a great time and I'm completely busting balls here. But this is also one of the "OT Louisiana Trashy vacation 101" posts ever. I love it.
-travel sport competition -check
-casino - check
-biloxi - check
-moms getting hammered together -check
buffet - check
waterpark- check
FWIW we stayed next door when we evacuated for Hurricane Michael and our room overlooked the water park. My kids were super jealous we didn't take them. I'm not saying I'd go there just for that, but if you are there it looks like a great way to spend an afternoon.
