How long did the tour last? I'll be hitting up the sox game tonight but may try to do the boat tour tomorrow night to see the fireworks

We were finished in less than 2 hours. The dusk to dark views were excellent.

It's about an hour and a half or so. There's a full bar on board which is pretty nice. After we did it on Wednesday we went to Rebar in Trump Tower for a drink. Nice views.

The weather right now is about as good as it gets. We have had a stretch of weather for about a month now that has been incredible

posting here to check back on all the advice. I'm heading to CHI in about 4 weeks for the UGA/ND game and will definitely use this thread as a guide. All we have set in stone is cubs/brewers on Friday.

Question about girl and the goat...I've considered taking my fiance (will be wife by that point!) just because of all the rave reviews but being perfectly honest, I think the experience may be "lost" on us. Neither of us really care all that much about nice or fancy restaurants and when I mentioned it to her she seemed pretty indifferent. My question is, is this a place that is so transcendent that you simply MUST GO no matter what if given the chance? And how expensive is it?

Just got back. Thanks for all the suggestions, baws. Chicago is a great town, will definitely be back.

Also, whoever suggested Corridor, thanks. That was easily the best beer of the trip.

I had a great time, the one we booked took us out on a 20 min ride around the lake before going down the river so I got some good photos like the one above around dusk. Only problem is you really couldn't start to see the actual architecture of the buildings once it got dark near the end of the tour. Granted all i was doing was looking up at how tall the buildings were . Also the fireworks barge took one of the turns for the harbor lock so we waited about 30-45 minutes to get back out to navy pier from the river...

Can anyone from Chicago tell me what events/festivals/shows might be going on the weekend of October 20th? I'll be in town for a weekend to celebrate my wife's 40th. Thanks in advance.
