Madison/Green Bay, WI (football trip in October)

Hi All,
Looking at a weekend in October to hit up MSU @ WISC on Oct 12 (230 or 3 PM CT game) and potentially the Lions @ GB the 14th for MNF. The Madison is very likely, still TBD on GB.
A couple questions:
Has anyone been to games at either spot. I'm super pumped about the idea of going to either spot. Also, any recommendations for places to eat/drink/explore outside of the game. I know Madison is a blast from what I've heard and October should be really nice.

Went to the LSU - Wisconsin game at Lambeau Field in 2016. Had a great time except for the outcome of the game. Be sure to see the Packers HOF Museum. It is first class. It brings you back to the Vince Lombardi era...... We stayed in Sheboygan, WI. a short drive away. It is a nice, waterfront town with some good restaurants, but because of that we did not go to any good restaurants in Green Bay. Brett Favre has a steakhouse near the stadium but we just went to the bar There are plenty of bars and restaurants around the stadium.

I can help on the milwaukee and green bay side since we went to a bills game there last year. Had a blast heading to both of thise cities, would recommend lambeau. Weather was cold for october so be warned. Here's the thread LINK

those people can drink
hit up the outside bars all up and down the street near the stadium and definitely walk the tailgate areas. We got invited in to so many tailgates we damn near missed the game

Went to a Green Bay game in 09. We stayed in GB but went out one night in Appleton. That place probably had better nightlife than GB.

Madison and the UW campus is awesome. Truly one of the best college towns in the country.
Google "Madison Wisconsin tigerdroppings" and youll find some good stuff from when LSU played up there

Haven't been to a game but went up to GB for job stuff last November.
Stayed at Lodge Kohler across the street from Lambeau and the place was amazing. I'm sure the waitlist is months/years long for game weekends. The place across the street from Lambeau "Titletown" I'm guessing would be hopping on gamedays with ice rink, sledding hill, football field for kids, and a brewery/restaurants right there. Did the museum which was very cool.
Definitely on my bucket list to go to a game there.

In 2017, we hit up a Wisconsin game on Saturday at 11am, then drove to Green Bay right after for the Saints/Packers game. Didn’t have much time to explore Madison, but if you’re going to be in Green Bay on Saturday night go to the stadium and try to eat in their restaurant. Good food, good atmosphere. We got there too late for a tour, but it was still great. I’d highly suggest going to both games

Here's a Madison thread from September 2018.
Super hungover, so I'd just echo what I posted in that thread.
In general, Madison is an awesome city. State Street and Capitol Square are loaded with bars and restaurants. Everything is within walking distance. Going down State Street toward campus is where you'll find a lot of the bars with undergraduates (i.e. Brats, Chasers, KK, DoubleU, Wando's, etc.). Heading up State Street and onto Captiol Square is where you'll see young professionals, graduate students, etc.
Gameday in Madison is a special experience. First things first, I would start your morning at the Farmers' Market around Capitol Square. From there, make your way toward Regent Street. Camp Randall is unique setting - it is, quite literally, in the middle of a neighborhood. There isn't much room for parking and, while there is the "traditional tailgate" in smaller lots, the stadium is surrounded by houses. Businesses along Regent will turn into outdoor beer gardens and houses have full-blown parties with countless kegs. It's a lot of fun.
Happy to answer any, specific, questions you have, but my room to think on my own right now is little.

Green Bay is a good time but I wouldn't want to spend more than a day there. Either head to Door County or spend a day in Milwaukee (or an extra day in Madison). Enjoy all are nice spots that time of year.

One thing I forgot to mention about Madison is that it is located on an isthmus, so it lies between Lake Mendota and Lake Monona. Both are, obviously, walking distance from wherever you are downtown, but Mendota is the larger of the two and campus lines this lake. Highly-recommend grabbing a beer on the Terrace at the Memorial Union - doesn't get much better for a B1G campus than that.

Brunch at The Creamery Downtown is a must. Great great great food. If you enjoy drinking, Title Town Brewery and Badger State Brewery are good places to have a drink and do a tour. Like others said, the Packers HOF is great.

I went to a game in Madison last year. It was definitely a good time. I stayed at the Madison Concourse. Hit up the farmers market prior to the game. It's right on the downtown square around the Capitol.
