Staying at Luxor Saturday-Tuesday for LSU game. Booked because close to stadium Friend said it was a dump. Should I rebook a different hotel? I will have a rental car. Also restaurant recommendations that are not too expensive? Thanks

At this point I think we need a Las Vegas for LSU weekend stickied thread for the Travel Board.

Yes, it's very old. I think last time I stayed there was 2011 and it was bad then. It was super cheap to get a corner suite with an in room hot tub. I was on a cross country moto trip at the time, so it beat being outside camping and the hot tub was nice after being on the bike for a week and a half at that point.

The good news is that it is not far from the stadium.

There are far worse places you could stay. But for rooms near the stadium it's not good.

He is not entirely wrong, it isn't particularly nice.

You could do worse though.

Should I book something else? Trump hotel seems to be priced a little more than what I paid. I can drive to game and pay for parking.

It depends on what your priorities are. If you don't care about your room, gambling, or higher end restaurants, and care more about being close to the stadium, it'll be alright.

Its not a REAL dump like circus circus or something, its just more holiday inn-ish. Its fine

There are just so many really nice places in Vegas...with correspondingly higher prices.

I would. Luxor would be far from my first choice. If price is not an object I would upgrade.

I was in Luxor in December and there were absolutely no issues, I actually liked the atmosphere. I was staying at Delano/Mandalay Bay and they are connected to Luxor via the Shoppes at Mandalay Place.

I would stay there, assuming a good deal, especially with a game going on at Allegiant. You are able to take advantage of the pedestrian bridge and walk to the game very easily from there. Lower table minimums are a plus and all the rooms have had recent renovations. Definitely nicer than Excalibur.

If you can get a Tower Room go that route in lieu of pyramid.

I wouldn’t rent a car unless you’ll be doing a lot of sightseeing outside LV. Cab to the stadium.

Luxor is ok. Stay in one of the tower rooms instead of the pyramid. The pyramid rooms are hard to keep cool with the slanted windows & you’re going during one of the hottest times of the year.

nothing wrong with luxor. you could stay somewhere nicer and pay 3-4 times the cost for no reason. or you could stay at luxor and spend the savings having fun.

I’ve been watching a lot of Vegas videos and it looks like the tower rooms have been renovated and are nice.

Stayed in many LV hotels, upgrade to tower rooms and out of pyramid rooms and youll be fine.

ETA: I offered nothing new it seems. You received some good advice.

Stayed there 2 years ago. Nothing wrong with it if you won’t be in your room much.

Not great but not a dump either. Liked that it’s linked to Mandalay Bay. Rooms are not bad but not what you’d expect in Vegas.

We were just at the Luxor in February during Super Bowl Week. A lot was going on.

My experiences so far:

1 The Bellagio
2 Harrah’s
3 MGM Grand
4 Mirage
5 Luxor

Would like find good deal on Aria or that level and see an event at the Sphere.

We're staying at Park MGM. Not too expensive, the entire Hotel/Casino is non-smoking, and there's a free tram that takes you all the way to Bellagio.
