Lukla looks terrifying.
This prompted a DuckDuckGo search. Returned this:
Not sure I'd be comfortable flying into or out of this airport.

Why not? It’s even paved.

It gained worldwide fame as it was rated the most dangerous airport in the world for more than 20 years by a program titled Most Extreme Airports, broadcast on The History Channel in 2010.

So, I made it to Dubai after 15hrs,,,,,,,funny how they nav around Ukrainian airspace and then Iranian airspace. Next flight is in a few hrs to Kathmandu,,,,,,will stay there till Friday and then fly to Lukla,,,,,,calling it the most dangerous airport in the world is kinda like comparing the prime cuts at Ruth’s Chris to Flemings to Sullivan,,,,at the end of the day it’s still really good meat,,,,,do they wreck planes,,,,,yeah,,,,,do they wreck planes in NOLA and BR,,,,yeah. But, you tube plane crash Lukla,,,,,,there’s some doozies on there

Houston-Dubai-Kathmandu-Lukla,,,,supplies mostly clothes, sleeping bags, backpack, cameras, binos, meds, battery backups, headlamps, etc,,,,all food and drink is provided along the route,,,,group of 10 with Ian Taylor Trekking
My friend went in late February and her supplies were similar. She went with Moshi Adventures. She was by herself, but there were 5 total in the group. She had a great experience and said the guides were really good at pacing. She said it feels like a snails pace, but it's important to do it that way.
She's almost 60 and does Crossfit. She did a lot of Tx Hill Country hikes, a Colorado 14 er hike, and a few days at Big Bend.
I hope we get to see pics and hear about your trip!

same. Not even the everest part either, I'd enjoy pics from the flights as well and seeing the whole adventure from start to finish

This reminds me of how the Appalachian Trail hike thread started
That was 2 years in the making. Unfortunately I knew how it would end.
Too much talking.
This is much different.
Good luck OP.

damn man. I hiked up Peak 6 in Breck so that I could snowboard down. Hike took 25 minutes and I was gassed and had to stop every 15 feet to catch my breath. I imagine base camp at Everest is probably about the same

Love me some Peak 6! We go to Breck every summer for 2 weeks and I always wait until at least the third full day being out there to do my hikes above 11K feet. It makes a huge difference waiting for your body to acclimate.

That’s incredible. I’m jealous. Please share photos if you can!

Not to diminish what you did because it's awesome but Everest Base Camp is at 17,598 feet. That's a whole level or two above 12,300 feet in terms of breathable oxygen.

It surely is Marc,,,,,so I had my first outing into the city today,,,hard to post pics, while they have internet, it’s barely internet, but I went to the ancient city of Bhaktapur,,,,,,nothing is plumb, level or square, but they have the most ornate wood carvings on the building,,,,,,I got blessed by a Hindu priest on his own accordand then he wanted 1500 rupees,,,,,I gave him $2,,,,he was really pissed,,,went to the Monkey Temple,,,,,,really old,,,,and you can buy anything in a pharmacy, morphine, viagra, ambien, you name it. And don’t get me started on the driving, there are no rules,,,beep beep, get the fk out my way!
