Hep and herp at no additional cost. But you’ll need a Groupon.

I was just there and it is cheap compared to Dallas because the dollar is so strong and their corporations arent price gauging to the extent American corps are. But flights are expensive right now. I was say wait until October to go and you will likely find good flight prices

Only if I’m forced to live in Poplarville, MS.

I have only been to the Greek Islands. It's hard for me to fathom a vacation getting any better, especially for a youngish single male. Tons of naked Swedish gals on the beaches (nude beaches are legal in some areas and all the Euro girls flock there and take it all off). Great food, great weather, great bars, beautiful blue seas, great scenery, great history, great women.
You might find a place that can beat the Greek Islands in one or two categories, but it has the most going for it overall in my opinion.
I went a long time ago before there was any Americanization going on. Now you will find some McDonalds and Starbucks, which I hate, but it's still a great place.

If I want to be glared at and looked down upon by euro trash chain-smoking painted whores I'll get a domestic flight to Montreal.

I went to Italy a year ago. Here are the top points:
1) The International Kifchen is a wonderful travel agency
2) Puglia is a fantastic region it Italy
3) COVID testing cost us an extra week in quarantine
4) being quarantined in a 500 year old castle (Masseria Salamina) was not a negative experience
5) a physician’s letter will get you through Delta’s requirements to fly to the US. But they won’t get you through Delta’s requirements to fly a connecting leg through France.
6) my sister in law doesn’t know this website exists. She married my wife’s brother less than a year before this trip. She had to quarantine with us. Her husband (the actual blood-related family member on the trip) did not. She tested positive in the airport after a week without her husband. She had to spend another week in quarantine. I was through security and ok the airplane when I learned this. I did not understand what I could do to improve the situation, so I flew home.
7)Roman quarantine is a lot shittier than Puglian quarantine.
8) the St Regis in Rome will let you saber-open their bottle of champagne if you ask nicely. If you take a video of you using an antique Sabre on a vintage bottle of champagne, my wife will respond with her using a plastic knife to pop the top off a water bottle, regardless of the number of weeks you have spent with your in-laws while your spawn is back to normal life.
9) I met Dabo Swinney. He’s a particularly nice guy
10) if you joke about which Death Valley is better to the Clemson Head Coach, make sure you aren’t wearing a purple t-shirt with an orange baseball cap. He apparently recognizes that this color combination belongs to one of the schools but not the other. He does not appear afraid to point that out.
11) if you do a Global Entry Interview upon arrival to the US, make sure you claim and recheck your bags before leaving them in a secured area you aren’t allowed to backtrack to huh to wait on a carousel for another day or so.
12) global entry interviews for infants are moderately comical.

I think a bunch of OTards going to France and just completely destroying Americans reputation in Europe is exactly what I want to see happen
Pretty sure our political class is taking care of that for us

I think you over estimate Americans reputation.
A bunch of OT trash sweating all over the place would fit pretty perfectly

Had a friend go two years ago. He said the food was bland , no air conditioning and the people were miserable AF.

I did this when dollar and euro was on parity and it was amazing. A tapas lunch in spain with a glass of sangria was like 7 euros

The euro has been much lower
Not since 2002. It’s nearly equal to the dollar now, rather than being worth much more since 2002

Was going to say the same. Just got back from London and Paris. Trip was awesome but it wasn’t cheap and the exchange rate wasn’t in our favor…but it is decently close to parity which is better than it has been at times
Overall, especially in continental Europe, you can get better value on things and in spots. We had a charcuterie and cheese picnic near the Eiffel Tower. Meat, cheese, baguette, waters were under $20. Doing that here would’ve been double that and worse quality

I'd visit Eastern Europe, but Western Europe has gone to shite.

Heading to Greece and Italy for 3 weeks next month. Thanks for the heads up.

Romania is one of the most under rated places I’ve ever been. Spent 3 days in Bucharest and 3 days in Brasov but went all over Transylvania and hiked the Carpathians.
The JW Marriot in Bucharest was $99/night to stay. A steak dinner and a bottle of wine will cost about $30 for you and your wife.
We also ate at Caru’ cu bere which is ranked like #7 in the world of best restaurants.
It honestly reminded me a lot of NOLA with the culture. You can find trouble very quickly if you’re looking for it but all in all there’s a lot to be seen and tasted.
