I wouldnt get on a plane then. It's up to the attendants on the plane that day how they want to to enforce it and since the mandate is 2 years and up, I wouldn't just hope you get someone lenient .

I'd risk it. If I see a really young kid like you got there's no way I'm tattle-tailing to a flight attendant about no mask. You'd have to have a bunch of Karens on your flight and if they ask he/she is almost 2

How do they know the kid is over 2?

Well that’s the initial plan- “he turns 2 next month”

But I’m sure if they wanted they could check his ticket info

I'd like to hope the Delta flight attendants don't care to that extent about children's masks. Only negative video I've seen is the one about Spirit, Delta is better than that for customer service (usually). Once you get to your seats whip out the snacks and beverages for him to be on the safe side

FA’s have become as bad as teachers and nurses with their self entitlement... anyone with a shred of common sense wouldn’t force any kid under 10 to wear a mask, but I’ve been on a handful of flights with mask nazi FAs who give you shite if there’s the slightest gap around your nose.

I have a 2 year 6 month old that refuses to wear a mask, we’ve been on 3 flights since he’s turned 2 and it’s been no issue. Flown southwest twice and once with delta and haven’t even been asked.

I thought about this for my two year old a few months ago

All I could find was articles about people wearing motorcycle helmets a year ago before masks were required and that they'd probably not be allowed as a mask, which is ridiculous.

A girl I work with recently flew with Delta and they’re were pretty strict with her 2 year old. I guess it depends on the flight crew though.

I recently flew Southwest and they didn’t give two shites whether my 3 year old wore one or not.

Thats what I'm thinking. My wife wants to bake cookies and give them to the flight crew as a bribe when we get on the plane

I'm an FA for DL. I'm based in ATL.

Majority of ATL based crews aren't gonna give a two shits about a 2 year old.

However we have bases in SEA, SFO, LAX, NYC...you get my drift. It really just depends on the flight crew you get that day.

I fly Delta but only because I’ve got so much invested in the way of miles and status.

I find 75% of the FAs to be checked out and disinterested other than enforcing rules.

They toss you a bag of snacks and make sure you have a mask on between bites. (hyperbole of course).

DL is a northeast company bought into blue Georgia.

I flew last weekend in United and delta. United was militant about even the masks between bites. Delta didn’t seem to care much

I’m working all DAL this weekend mostly, but hope you have a good experience.

I do just give the warning out about the mask nazis because they are out there. I still see people showing up to work with gloves and 2 masks. It’s freaking ridiculous but these people are brainwashed.

Regardless, heading to MSY I don’t see you having any issues. Enjoy the trip!
