How depressing is Orlando Airport (MCO)

The outdated atrium style courtyard with inadequate and poorly maintained wooden bench seating.
The shitty Outback Steakhouse between terminals A and B.
It’s not New York, LA or Chicago but Orlando attracts millions of people every year from across the world for Disney World and is a top convention destination.
Really weird that they would not have a better airport.

Its pretty dated and odd they haven't done anything to this point, but I know they are redoing the security area where that TSA agent committed suicide. Getting rid of the carpet and the likes.
I've never really had an issue MCO like others, but agree, its outdated for how many tourists come through.

Can't be worse than O'hare

Depressing enough to fly into Tampa and rent a car from there.

True... on the same level of outdatedness, however, at least MCO has room. Ohare is so damn cramped.

IMO Las Vegas is way worse.

Last summer after Disney, our morning flight got delayed and delayed and delayed until we flew out at 9:30pm
Ate 3 effin meals with two small kids and a wife at MCO. Worst day ever

Charlotte says hi.

Yeah, the lack of decent dining is a head scratcher, given the CentFL weather uncertainty.

Loved that airport back in the USAirways days, American has far too much traffic into there these days, I actively avoid booking through there. Fortunately, there are a surprising number of connection cities on AA out of PNS.

It has a lot of flights but does MCO have a lot of connections?
Aren’t they doing a bunch of upgrades?
The issue I have is there isn’t a lot of options post security. Pre security it’s fine.

I’m not a well traveled airport expert, but Orlando feels almost like a mall in the 90’s with terrible shopping options now that I think back on my one trip in and out of there.
We have a 4 year old and like to make the airport apart of the vacation. Get there earlier than most, check out the shopping and dining, sit down and eat. We got to the terminal at MCO and were like uhhh well at least we’ve got McDonald’s.

Charlotte isn't bad at all. The airport for the most part is modern, its just long as shite.
Haven't been there since they did the new Airport, but the old MCI is prob the worst "big city" airport I've been to. It was very outdated, cramped, and had 0 food options.
MCO reminds me of RNO, just 5 times bigger.

Each concourse has different dining but most of the main shopping is in the terminal before you get on the train to head to your gate.

The southwest Terminal (Gates 100 -120 something) def has more dining than the United Terminal (Gates 70 - 90s).
I think the United gates has a burger king and freshens in that rotunda and that is about it. The Southwest terminal has Jersey's, Chipotle, McDonalds, Starbucks.

The people that intentionally eat at airports confuse me. Who cares? 40k options on your way to the airport, and y'all are worried about whether there is authentic birria at Terminal C?

Some people dont have other options if rushing from meetings to catch a flight and need to grab something to eat

Who's "y'all". Don't think anyone has said they are worried about it, just stating facts

The beer garden they have right there is actually pretty nice. That’s where I tailgated for the Lsu versus Clemson national championship game in 2020.

Where was this meeting, in the terminal parking lot? What are the 5Ps about planning and performance again?
