The whole city is depressing. I’m dreading the day that my kids want me to take them to Disney.

We have flown into TPA a few times and made the drive over. It's common to find cheaper airfare into TPA, car rentals are cheaper and while the drive may take longer, it's not much more than 30 minutes that what the drive from MCO is into Disney but I wouldn't fly into TPA to go to Port Canaveral or anything.

I've never understood the hate for MCO. Yes outdated and full of screaming kids, but as far as ease of in and out, especially on business, its mid-tier.
Rental car is onsite and an easy walk and you're onto the interstate within 1 min of leaving the garage.
I've prob flown in/out of MCO 30+ times and I've never considered avoiding it and flying into Tampa to only spend an hour in a car.
