Guys, wife and are planning a 4-day anniversary trip to Hot Springs as a filler. We have a friends trip over to Punta Cana less than a month after this trip is planned. Where should we stay, what should we do? Mid/upper 30s, down for pretty much anything.

Check out Garvan Gardens. Even if you and/or the wife aren't big flower and garden fans, you'll still probably enjoy it.

Seriously going to the Dominican Republic? Man have you been watching the news?

Not sure when you are going but stay at Oaklawn. Hotel is very nice. Astral Spa at the hotel is top notch. Eat dinner at 501 Prime. Delucas Pizza for lunch. If summer, rent a boat and get on Hamilton.

Superior bath house brewery
Fishmeran's wharf
J&S italian villa - food is still good. It's a shame they never rebuilt in the same location when the resturant overlooking the lake burned down.
Backporch grill for steaks
Been years since I've been. Garvin gardens as mentioned is a nice botanical garden.
Mountain tower to get a top down view.
Otherwise half the enjoyment is either doing the bath houses or chilling on the lake.

There is a Ganster/Mafia Museum. I enjoyed the walk through. HS was Vegas before Vegas I believe.
It has been along time since we went, but here are alot of small shops for shopping and walking.

Delucas Pizza for lunch.
Or dinner. Was watching horse racing from Oaklawn on TV last weekend, and they had a segment on Delucas. Said track announcer Frank Mirahmadi insisted they go there when in town. It was also featured last season on True South.
Ohio Club is a good bar right in the center of downtown.

Trip was planned as a VERY large group over 8 months ago. Trust me, we've all been keeping an eye on Haiti.

Stay at Hotel Hale. It’s a boutique hotel in an old bathhouse on the main strip, next to the brewery. Ohio Club bar. Check out the Arlington Hotel, but don’t stay there! The tower atop the hill behind the bathhouses gives a great view, and the floor just below the observation deck has a cool mural depicting the history of Hot Springs. Hot Springs Country Club has 2 great golf courses, and is open to the public.

Hot Springs is more famous for what it used to be than what it is today.
One attraction that hasn't changed much over the decades may not be of interest to most people... quartz mining. Unless you like playing in red mud at the mines, just shop in Hot Springs.
I'm told that you get the best prices at weekend flea markets.

One of the most boring trips I’ve ever been on

Look up the Hot Springs Treehouses.
We stayed there for a weekend getaway a few years back. Hot tub on the porch and a bbq pit. Right down the road from downtown.

Just did this in October for Fall Break. The kids loved it. They really liked the science museum as well

going on a bachelor's trip to Hot Springs in a few weeks - got a cabin on the lake, going to go to the casino, play golf, bringing a boat and will probably go eat at 501 Prime steakhouse

wife and I are similar age, and we went over the holidays for the first time and will definitely be back. its a very charming town.
Great bars, restaurants, cool museums. We skipped the bath house and did an amazing spa day a block from them for a much better experience.
Great hiking, Ganster Museum is a must.

My wife and I spent the weekend there a couple of weeks ago while on a business trip. Good suggestions so far, one I would add, stop off at Crystal Ridge Distillery for a tasting of their different flavors of in house made Moonshine. We ended up buying a case of several different types, beats a wine tasting by a mile.
