Hyatt Centric is. Central Station is also nice. Even with close proximity to Beale, I would suggest using Uber rather than walking.

We used Street Food Man in Ho Chi Minh and booked Hanoi Food Tour on classic motorbike via Viator in Hanoi
-Language wasn’t an issue especially in the city and with the younger generation.
-I arranged most of my transportation through the hotel and that was easiest for us. Everything is so cheap. You can get a ride in a new Mercedes for cheap. Food and beer is dirt cheap
I typically don’t do guided tours on any of my international trips but I would 100% do it in Vietnam. Hanoi is absolute madness and Ho Chi Minh isn’t far behind it.

Went to Vietnam in September and did the following. Would recommend.
-Landed in Ho Chi Minh. Spent 3 nights there and think that was the perfect amount of time, especially with the first day getting in town later in the day. Stayed at the Reverie Saigon. Would highly recommend. Also paid for car service which included Vietnam entry via the diplomatic line. I don’t know how much it cost but would definitely do it again. Had 2 airport officials waiting at the bridge when we arrived. Got our luggage off the carousel, entered the diplomat line where we were the only 2 people and were through customs in about 5 minutes.
-Did a night moped food tour the day we anrrived and it was a really cool experience. Guided by 2 university students.
-Visited the independence palace, war remnants museum, and Saigon Central post office. Also saw the CIA building.
-Flew to DaNang and took a car to Banyan Tree Lang co for a beach stay for 3 nights. Place was awesome and the beach was very nice
-Stayed a night in Hoi An before flying out. Took a guided tour with an old interpreter for the Army. The lanterns on the river were a sight to see. Stayed at the La Siesta Hoi A resort and was very nice as well. Had a spa on site.
-flew to Hanoi and took a van to Ha Long Bay. Booked a 1 night boat tour with Indochina Junk. Single cabin boat. Was just us and the crew. All the food was good and the sites were great.
-Stayed 2 nights in Hanoi at Meritel Hanoi. Nice hotel and cheap. Did a motorbike food tour and went all over town and ate a bunch of random street food.
All said, great trip. Would definitely recommend. If you have any questions shoot. I left out a lot of details.

For $5k I’ll do some research and drive you. It’s Ireland, not China. Drive it and your memories will be 10x better.

That was the problem I ran into and why I went to the Cistern. Get the skip the line pass and check it out. Then go hang out and have some Turkish dinner and drinks somewhere. Then hit up a drink on the Bosporus before heading to the airport.

Don’t think many folks are beating down the door to be a police officer making $38k a year.
