Condo we are staying at does not have boat storage. Staying a week and wife wants to bring boat to ride in. Found a boat storage for $80 for the week. Is there enough stuff to do by bringing the boat? Will be there for baseball tournament. Thanks

I’m not really sure what you are asking.
I wouldn’t tow a boat that far and have to fool with launching and picking up along with storage. Just rent a boat for a day.

Sounds like a huge pain the arse, especially if the storage is a good drive from the condo and/or boat ramp.

Doesnt make much sense to me to rent a condo on the beach to store my boat somewhere else to ride my boat in the bay. I'd either stay on or near the bay where I would use my boat or leave the boat at home.

Aiden needs to be taking batting practice in spare time and not cruising in the boat.

How much extra $4.50 a gallon gas do you burn towing a boat?

A full day pontoon boat rental is $450 or so usually. So it really depends on your plans? You also don't have to clean the pontoon boat after, show up, take the poon, come back in 8 hours.

I don't know your plans as far as baseball and beach and boating. You take the boat out 2 or maybe 3 days and its worth it. You maybe just want to do a half day at crab island and driving around, pontoon makes sense.

If you want advice, we’ll need pics of wife.

Honestly, it’s not worth the dollars to tow and the hassle. I would think a baseball tournament is going to occupy a good bit of time

We hauled a boat down there 25 years ago. We were 1 of maybe 5 boats at Crab Island. Now, everywhere is a madhouse due to pontoon rentals.

There's no way I would haul boat down there when renting is so easy.

Our running joke among family/friends for traveling anywhere east of Bay St. Louis, when one of us have enough money and/or a big enough boat to have the boat meet us there, then we will bring a boat to the Gulf Coast.

Honestly, no. You can get on a sandbar on the west side of the bay and tie up for a semi-private beach on the bay for swimming or a barbecue. Crab island is crowded, with a lot of inexperienced people in rentals. You have to keep your head on a swivel for traffic and drifting pontoons. Last year a ski boat pulled up with speakers the size of kitchen appliances and serenaded us with their playlist of every sexually explicit song from the 80s to the present. You can cruise the back bay in the residential areas also, but it gets hotter the further away from the beach with the breeze.

We rented from a private individual that had a more modern boat with better amenities such as bluetooth stereo and a few water toys. YMMV. The website was GetMyBoat.com. Like airbnb for boats.

eta We're skipping the boat and plan to do half-day jet ski's this year.
