Check water levels obviously, but late spring/early summer is hard to beat IMO. Late summer gets very hot and low.
We usually go to Gilbert for floats. They have a few cabins but never used them. Their glamping setup is nice as well. You can rent kayaks/canoes/rafts (if you have your own, you can pay them to take you upriver) and you'll end your float where you're staying which we prefer.
Jasper is another absolutely beautiful area with lots of cabin choices.

I went on a trip to Jasper and kayaked for about 8 hours and it was amazing! That was 10 years ago so I don't remember much.

Yep, thats what we use.
the closer to June, the warmer it will be (but shouldn't be blistering hot yet)
May is pretty wet here, so early/mid June may be best bet. You just run the risk of it being in the 90's during the day. Gilbert is much cooler at night than some of the other areas.

We did from the buffalo river outdoor center to hasty. Was 4 days on the river and had a blast. 4 guys did jackson kayaks and me and a buddy did a canoe, i would recommend a canoe if the river is running. We hit it just right with the river running and weather was great . The outdoor center will drive your truck to where you want to take out for a small fee.

BOC is probably the best outfitter on the upper. The outfitters stop renting boats at the end of June for the upper section. Water is getting low at that point and their contract with the Federal government also mandates it.
Late May or early June is prime time but will be busy. The lower section isn't always reliable to float after July 4th every year.
My family has had a place south of Jasper for a few decades. These are best river level and distance sites

Is there any routes that are good for a 2-3 day float trip on the Buffalo River? I go on a big trip every year with some friends and we've all really wanted to go out here. We try to do a Friday through Sunday type deal.

Agree 100% with this. Levels will get very low at times so you need to watch this closely. It is a fabulous river to kayak or canoe.

I went in August out of Buffalo River Float Service, and had a good time. Came from Baton Rouge and stayed in Little Rock, so that was a little closer than the others. You do have to call and ask about river levels, because they can change with the rains and droughts.
Did the 9 mile float, and it went by too fast because we didn't stop very often. Views were great.
Played some golf in Hot Springs Village also, that place was pretty nice and quiet.

Spring time, April/May usually has a lot of water. I went like 7 years ago during that time and it was awesome. Lots of water and cool temps. I imagine it is dry af there right now

No matter what you plan, if we get significant rain the river can get very dangerous - so you have to stay flexible.
My preference is April, as waiting till college is out creates lots more crowds.
A few years have given us enough late May rain for early June floats, and those are amazing.
If you have strict dates and the river conditions are poor, you can always pivot to the Kings or White Rivers.
