Cheap luggage is the best. No matter how nice a piece of luggage is, it will be beat to hell in no time if you fly a lot. I bought a $200.00 bag and within 3 flights, it was already starting to fail. Some of you OT ballers might not think much of $200 for a bag but I thought it was way too much. I'd never spend that much again.

This my method as I always check my bags.

The key term here is "checked". Most business travelers want to be the first on the plane so they can store their luggage right above their seat. Granted I have been late to a flight and had to check it at the gate which then turns into damages luggage.

That's why you go B&R. I prefer the look of Tumi to B&R but Tumi gutted their warranty years back. B&R is still life time, when my Tumi goes out I'll pick up the B&R

I picked this one up off Amazon for $120 or so last year. Samsonite Sphere II

So far it's held up great. I'm carry on only 98% of the time with the occasional gate check.

I over pay for a lot of stuff but luggage I just don't really care about. Samsonite will last you as long as anything else and you can find good deals on it. Tumi is great but there is just no need to pay that much when I'm just buying black overhead rollons for business travel.

I refuse to roll luggage, so you probably don't want my advice. Carry your shite people.

Stop being weird on purpose and based on that statement you must not travel a lot.

I don't mind a duffel for a weekend trip. I'm not carrying my shite all around the U.S. on business travel though.

I have whatever Sears sells and it's worked flawlessly for the past couple of years. The retractable handle is starting to loosen up, so it might be time for a replacement. I fly often and these things get beat up pretty badly every week. Got it on sale for $50 and I've definitely gotten my money's worth. Might just replace it with another one just like it after seeing what some of these luggage makers charge.

Found a similar Sampsonite online that I think might be slightly better made. It's $100. I might buy it before my next project.

Honestly, I don't see how a carry-on should ever break unless you're checking them plane-side for every trip

Mine is too big for the overheads on regional flights. Gate check isn't that bad though.

I have carried a medium perhaps large duffle from Cableas similar to this one for 10 years I bet

LINK

I can carry it on yet still get 5 days of clothes in it and it has pockets on each end for shoes. I fold suits and shirts and dress pants and roll up my socks and other clothes.

I hate hard side stuff and I hate to check bags.

I have some cheap luggage. After watching the baggage guys just chunk those suckers all over the place, I decided if it breaks it breaks.

I carry the Patagonia MLC and it's way big enough for everything, compartments for separating as well.
