Tumi Alpha 2 ... have filled up the pages in my passport while travelling with my Alpha 2.

Great bag. About 11 pounds empty.

Tumi site to Alpha 2

I use a 20" hardshell spinner from Samsonite and have for the past 6 years. It fits every airline carry-on and it's tough as hell

+1 for Tumi. I've had my Tumi luggage for 4 years, and about 600 flights and it still looks and functions good as new.

I use a medium filson duffle too. It's light and holds more than enough stuff. My next one will be the Pullman.

Tumi is definitely worth the money.

I've had a ballistic nylon carry-on for about 10 years. (I think it's a 22"?) Still looks brand new.. and it's used a lot.

I've heard poor reviews which is surprising given how good their other stuff is.

I still like Hartmann.

I've had poor luck with Pelican gun cases. Evidentially the case needs to be closed when you drive over it.

Cheap luggage is the best. No matter how nice a piece of luggage is, it will be beat to hell in no time if you fly a lot. I bought a $200.00 bag and within 3 flights, it was already starting to fail. Some of you OT ballers might not think much of $200 for a bag but I thought it was way too much. I'd never spend that much again.

My Travelpro lasted me 5 years of constant travel. It cost me 150. I am just in a situation now that I can spend more (if worth it) .

Obviously a piss-poor design.

I refuse to roll luggage, so you probably don't want my advice. Carry your shite people.

I did today and I find your analysis faulty.

Honestly, I don't see how a carry-on should ever break unless you're checking them plane-side for every trip. I've had checked-only bags last 500+ flights.

Another vote cast for Tumi. I was converted 5 years ago and even carry one of their wallets. I'm a habitual over stuffer/general abuser and both pieces look new.
