Appreciate the responses from everyone.
I’ve lived in NOLA and I’ve basically lived the DC life for the past 10 years. I live right across the Key Bridge that goes into Georgetown and am walking distance to Clarendon/Courthouse. I’ve done the Mug nights at Whitlows, the Sunday Fundays at A Town R.I.P. (when they first started), done the U St, Glover Park raging
I’ll never do NYC, I’ve been there a few times and have a couple of friends that live there and claim it as the best city ever but I’ll never live north of DC and I personally think NYC is overrated, but to each their own. Chicago is probably my favorite city in the country but I can’t do those winters.
Preferably South or West. Again, appreciate the responses.

Don’t know if I’d have much of a social life there and I don’t think I know anyone that lives in either Oregon or Washington for that matter but from everything I’ve read about it, it’s an incredible town. Definitely caught my eye as an extremely underrated town.

Difficult to go wrong with San Diego, as others have mentioned. Otherwise, I have several college friends that live through Santa Monica and Venice - they love it, but it helps their offices are in those areas, so limits commute. Pretty sure all but one bike or walk to work.

If you aren't ugly and like the outdoors you'll gain a social life.

It looks like Bend has a population of 100k, so it’s not small.
I don’t know Bend, but I’ve lived in the mountains for some time.
To enjoy it, you do need to love the outdoors. You need to ski or ride, and you need a summer pursuit as well. It’s how you’ll make friends, and it’s what you’ll be doing in your downtime.
Also, be prepared for a lot of type A women.

I’ll toss a couple out that haven’t yet.
Las Vegas
Orlando
Both places have tons of things to do and being tourist locations offer direct flights to multiple other places.

Dunno about Orlando, but Vegas is a shitty place to live. Off the strip is a different world from the strip. Also, if you party on the strip, easy to get burned out in that lifestyle.
As someone mentioned, major metro areas with lively bar scenes for after work, along with good nightlife, are ideal for a young single adult.

I'm 31 & single and am a couple weeks away from moving to Northwest Arkansas.
I've got some change stashed in my bank account and will be looking to get into real estate and start flipping houses out there.

What happened, last month and a couple nights ago, sucks, but it doesn't change how great Minneapolis is. It has a bustling brewery/dining scene, is the most bike-friendly city in the country, among the most-educated cities, you're near 13 lakes + Mississippi River, and job opportunities aren't in shortage (five Fortune 500 companies have HQ in MPLS).
Things will steady with time, but it's not like people are locked indoors there. I have over a dozen college friends that live in Minneapolis. All are back to their normal routines and bars/restaurants have reopened patios.

Somewhere in the Pacific Northwest for me. Bend , Oregon seems like an awesome place.

Chicago was amazing in my 20's and early 30's. Cheap compared to NYC, DC, SFO, LA. Far more of a big city than ATL or Charlotte. Plenty of good looking women everywhere, and they are not afraid of snow or cheap beer. Also lots of good outdoor opportunities. It's not Denver, but otherwise pretty legit.
Once you settle down, though, it's the same BS or worse as any big city. Very expensive for a family, very corrupt, etc. I got out and decamped to NOLA.

Jacksonville/St. Augustine

No offense taken. Few things in play here. First, they're up in the neighborhoods, Old Town, Wrigleyville, Lincoln Park. Second, they're under giant coats half the year, so they all look like Eskimos if I'm allowed to say that still. It was such a breakthrough when yoga pants came out for wintertime hotness. But it also makes the beginning of sun-dress season so amazing.
Also riding the brown line L home at 5:15 saw all of the hotties get out of the advertising agencies, was a target rich environment. We had a lot of fun back in the day.

Been in Nashville for over 20 years. Don't come here. There's no social life. Terrible restaurant and bar scene. No outdoor activities. Everyone around here must be at least 80. And you hear "Go Vaawwllls" all over the place.

I’ve been once but I noticed a lot of hot young professionals, at least in the downtown area.
I have a friend from Minnesota and she told me a lot of the midwestern kids will head to Chicago for big city living rather than LA or New York.
