Masks, limited capacity, possibility of not all parks open everyday, 6' apart in lines, characters practicing social distance....Same price.

I’m having a hard time justifying going until there’s more definitive information. Masks all day in Orlando July heat will be suffocating and there’s no word on whether parades, fireworks or other shows will still take place. We love Disney but I’m not paying full Disney prices for half the experience.

It will be interesting to see how they social distance in that place. Will they disinfect after every person rides?

Add heat and a mask that just sounds miserable

Does not make sense how anyone could justify going to Disney with all the different restrictions they are going to have to have. It was already miserable before all that.

we have flights and hotel booked. can cancel or reschedule.

We will only be doing waterparks this trip. Taking a wait and see approach. Will decide about a week out if we need to cancel.

I have reservations for july 4 to 11. Club level. I expect we will cancel. I cant justify club level unless the lounge is open. I did fastpasses on the morning of May 5th and they were limited, but I checked again in the afternoon and more fastpasses were open. We are not doing a limited experience.

We already canceled another international trip for June. I don't think we will do anything except in laws this summer.

We budget $20k per year for vacations and I'm probably going to roll that forward for one hell of a 2021.

Disney has lost their way

If they cant give their loyal following a reasonable start up date so travel plans can be made, it simply reveals how they have just been flying by the seat of their pants for years. Basically just packing people in to their 'cattle cars'

Their mantra was always the almighty dollar, but now that the guest experience (safety) is being forced down their throats, they cant seem to come to grips with that new reality

I’m curious if Disney would do a limited opening. How much capacity do they need to make money? If they shut down say 25% of the rides and some other things, but only had 50% capacity?

Then what if they raised their prices 50%? I don’t think they could raise prices due to bad press but I think they easily could do it and still attract the customers needed.

I agree Mask’s in July sounds awful.

Masks will do more harm than good. A family visiting for a week will have to either have enough disposable masks for the entire trip or access to and actual use a washing facility for those masks. Then you have the fact that there is no way a kid is going to keep a mask on the majority of the time and not also lose the mask somewhere in the park. Many of the adults who visit will have the same problems as those children. Those who can comply will be constantly taking the mask on and off because it will be so damn hot which means they will be constantly touching their face. What are they going to do at pools and water parks, require water proof masks? Will there be compliance cast members all over reminding you to put your mask back on?

I think they give it a week and then the mask becomes voluntary.

Thats what i see happening. I just cant see masks being a realistic requirement there. We are going at the end of September for a week. I just want them to open and get their kinks worked out before we go

I don't seeing that happening. Waterparks probably will not open till the fall or maybe even until next year. How is it possible to force people to space out in wave pools and lazy rivers while also wearing masks? Will it feel like being waterboarded? I'm worried about the resort pool areas even being open. Hot tubs will be closed for certain and pools may be as well. I will be ok with laying in the sun and drinking a few mid day beers between parks though.

We're still scheduled for June 6-12. I'll let Disney cancel because I have 346 DVC points that expired from our cancelled trip in March, but Disney extended them 6 months. I'm scared if I cancel, then the points will be lost. We will try to go in late July if they cancel us in June.

I'm thinking that they will limit parks to 25% capacity for June and then allow more guests every 2 weeks. They may not even have all 4 parks open initially. I could see them having only 2-3 open each day during June. They stopped taking reservations last week for the month of June. I'm guessing they have enough people staying on property to make it work financially, but not so many that it looks like a cash grab if / when people catch the virus while there.

I spent 7 days at Disney in July when covid-19 wasn’t a factor and spent 4/7 days in the water parks because it was so damn hot.

Thats why the mask policy wont last long. People will be taking them off all day long just to breath. Kids will take them off and throw them on the ground. It's just a CYA moment for Disney.

We had a trip for late June / early July and we rescheduled it to November.

Too many unanswered questions. Also, there is a 0.0 percent chance I'm going to spend that amount of money for there to be significant restrictions like closed parks, reduced capacity, etc. I'll just wait until all of this is over.

So November might not be happening either =)

The park is showing no hours through June 6 right now. You might want to get a jump on rescheduling. It was not easy for us to rebook through DVC without having to move resorts. Ended up in late August. I can't imagine they'll be closed still at that point, but who knows? I don't understand why they're still closed now.
