Disney has lost their way

If they cant give their loyal following a reasonable start up date so travel plans can be made, it simply reveals how they have just been flying by the seat of their pants for years. Basically just packing people in to their 'cattle cars'

Their mantra was always the almighty dollar, but now that the guest experience (safety) is being forced down their throats, they cant seem to come to grips with that new reality

You sound legitimately fricking retarded. This is one of the dumbest things I've ever read anywhere.

Disney will be prepared for whatever the state requires for them to open. I do think the state will require everyone to have masks on inside the park. I would expect them to be limited at 25% capacity which could be a good thing for the 25% that’s there. They could have more virtual lines, they already have the technology.

It will not be the same experience. I would only go during this time if I was an annual pass holder.

They can also expand capacity limits at Magic Kingdom and Epcot by opening walk ways that go from the entrance out to the sides. They do this at new year's. I think they will use the same technology they used for Rise of the Resistance to do virtual lines for all rides.

The park is showing no hours through June 6 right now. You might want to get a jump on rescheduling. It was not easy for us to rebook through DVC without having to move resorts. Ended up in late August. I can't imagine they'll be closed still at that point, but who knows? I don't understand why they're still closed now.

I had remembered that you said you were going in June when I saw they had started cancelling reservations for the start of the month yesterday. Still holding out hope for July but who knows. Universal opened Citywalk yesterday and a good portion of Disney Springs will be open by next weekend.

I bet nobody is and I could not imagine wanting to be one of the first few people through the gates, as any of the few in July would be.

I would like to be one of the first in. I would grab as much Disney/COVID stuff as possible because I’m sure it would be a nice collectible.

We have a large group of family scheduled to arrive June 7. Reservations up to June 6 have been cancelled so we are all resigned to the fact that we won’t be going. It stinks because we are coming from different parts of the country and our schedules won’t line up for another trip until next summer. I also got great Fastpasses and dining reservations so that adds insult to injury.

I read Florida was floating a 50% capacity for the parks. This is not a big deal since the parks operate near or below 50% of capacity for the majority of the year. It is rare the parks reach capacity.

I think the bigger deal is the reduced experience. Social distancing (I hate that term) characters, no fireworks, no parades, possibly no shows. Adding masks to the equation will just make things worse. Now virtual lines for everything would be great and they should do that anyway.

I think Universal provides a better experience even though their characters are not as iconic as the Disney portfolio. The Character experiences at Universal you are slammed with characters, my son barely had time to eat with all the time he spent with characters. There are also more characters in the street and shorter to non existent lines. The Harry Potter portion of the park is excellent, had good, healthy food that is affordable. The rides at universal are as a whole heads and shoulders above the Disney rides. Disney has some gems, but Universal has good ride after good ride. Also, the kids area is amazing. My son when he was 5 could spend an entire day in the Dr.Seuss section of the park. I do want to go to Disney again for the Star Wars stuff, but I would plan 1-2 days at Disney and the rest of the week at Universal. I could care less to see Epcot and Animal Kingdom again.
