Anyone Currently at the beach?
Heading to Orange Beach in a few days. Both of us have been told to work remotely and of course the kids are out of school so we still plan to go. House on the beach, so no worries about being around people in a shared condo pool.

If they closed the beach, could they tell us not to sit in front of the house on the beach? Anyone there having problems?

In Sandestin now. They closed the bars and restaurants today, but it’s pretty busy. Beach has been pretty packed & more folks rolling in today. Seaside closed beaches yesterday, so I assume that’s imminent here.

I live 20 minutes from Myrtle Beach. There are worse things there than Coronavirus.

Depends on where you are. Most of the beachfront homes in the Destin area actually own to the historical high tide line. This basically means the property line is close to where the water is so legally if you're sitting on the sand in front/back of the home, you are on your own property.

There are also neighborhoods off the beach that have deeded beach access. It gets a little more complicated for those but for the most part, if you have deeded access, your technically still on your property. In some cases, the HOA controls what goes on, but its still private.

re: Anyone Currently at the beach?
Flora Bama, Pirates Cove and LuLus closed today. Many more restaurants to follow. 78 ABC liquor stores have closed. It’s a weird chaos of uncertainty down here right now. Locals and tourist are fighting over necessities and amenities. I’d suggest not traveling down here unless you are not getting refunded for your trip.

Until at least April 3rd. They are closing Public beaches today. Some families and Spring Breakers couldn’t be respectful and play nice so it’s ruined it for everyone.

Amazing people are still considering it. Wife and kids were supposed to leave today for the beach, but I convinced them to cancel. One family that they were going with hasn't cancelled as of yesterday afternoon, and is still considering going. Even telling them the beaches are closed hasn't fazed them. Something like 5 or 6 families were all going, and they're the last holdout that hasn't canceled.

I've got a trip to Seacrest scheduled for the week of May 2nd. Unless forced, I'm not cancelling. I always do my shopping beforehand, and we don't go out to restaurants or anything.

re: Anyone Currently at the beach?
I was reading the Gulf Shores closure article, and it looks like just public beach access points are being closed (limiting the spring breakers that are staying in hotels off of the beach) but if you have a gulf front house, you would still have the beach in front of your home to use. Is my understanding correct?

Rental company we booked is only offering a credit, not a refund, so still planning on going and bringing the many groceries we already have.

re: Anyone Currently at the beach?
That is correct. Bring all your supplies and enjoy the beach if you are in a beachfront home. Things such as meats, cheese, eggs, milk, bread, bottled water and cleaning supplies are limited. Expect most restaurants to be take out only or closed by the weekend.
