My wife and I don’t even have the same address on our licenses, not that I’d give my license to anyone knocking on my door anyway, but good luck to them policing this.

You're not lying. I'm skiing in Summit Co today. This 12 year old girl hit a tree off a steep blue run. She's complaining that she can't breathe and crying pretty bad. I'm thinking broken rib and punctured lung. We finally flag down ski patrol. The dude comes up and stops at 10 foot and starts asking a bunch of questions like "have you had any flu-like symptoms?" "Have you been in close contact with someone who has tested positive?" She's crying and not answering the questions and the guy says "I can't come closer until you answer the questions" the whole time I'm thinking "wtf?? We have a serious medical emergency and you're delaying because of this BS covid hysteria" I was pretty pissed.

This reminds me the other day when I watched a legit channel 7 Denver news story on an active shooter situation inside schools during the covid era. The guy was legit talking about the actions they’re taking for student hiding from an active shooter in a school, but still maintaining 6 ft apart.

Are you fricking kidding me? I would shove every kid without masks into a damn closet.

Would it be worthwhile to bring the family to one of these ski based resorts even if we don't ski yet? Or should I look elsewhere?
Kids are 1 and 2.5 and I just want a wintery snow type trip in February plus have a ton of points.

No way... you would pay overpriced ski resort pricing to not do any of it. I would head to a cabin in Estes Park and enjoy the town, hiking, sledding hill etc. Plus its an easy drive from DIA. Assuming COVID doesn't screw all that up.

The craziest part, Summit county has a 2 week positivity rate of 7.6, they have 13 straight days of declining hospitalizations, 4 deaths and a total of 1,517 cases (TOTAL - as in since this started), yet are in Colorado's 2nd most restrictive phase.

If you are worried about being sent to prison for sharing a condo with your parents or friends, then head on over to Eagle (Vail), they are in phase orange.

Some sort of LEO responds to the tip, asks you for ID, and you're going to tell him to frick off? It seems like they would have probable cause with the tip for a search (not that I agree with that stance)

Anyone hearing anymore possible shutdown rumors for Colorado? I read in the Post today that summit County (breckenridge) was looking to be out of the red by end of December

Not sure about the skiing but Park City + northern Utah in general is extremely beautiful. The scenery definitely shouldn't stop you from going there.

Anyone know what the restaurant situation in Park City is? As restrictive as Summit Co? Does the scenery pale in comparison to the mountains of Colorado? Is it icier? One of the main reasons we were planning Keystone is for the Colorado Rockies.

Scenery in Park City? You’re still in a chain of the Rockies in Utah. Utah is not icy. If anything, the snow is even drier than Colorado in my experience. Best snow I’ve ever skied.

I agree with Hogwall. I’ve ski’d/vacation’d at pretty much every major resort in CO and UT and the only one I’ve gone back to time and time again is Park City. Proximity to airport for travel, city does everything I need, views are there, and skiing/snow is the best I’ve experienced.

I honestly don’t even know how they’ll police that, and if try I can’t imagine it will go over well.

From my experiences trying to rent a house in NY over the summer, the rental places may require each person staying there to show a picture of their ID

I mean, Summit county is great. I spent every weekend there when skiing. Keystone was my home mountain but the terrain leaves a lot to be desired and keystone isn’t really a town. However, the views are good. I could typically make it from my place to the Silverthorne exit in about an 65 minutes without traffic. It’s half the transit time from SLC to Park City. You’re in the town in about 35 minutes after leaving SLC.

Park City is dope and you can literally ski to Main Street. I am talking skiing to the bar from the ski area

Went last weekend. Wasn’t too bad. Definitely not Colorado but it’s got good terrain for the size.

Thanks for the input everyone. I'm going to sit down with the wife tonight and really discuss switching to Park City. Her point is, yeah they may not cancel skiing, but if everything else is closed, then they can say..."well you don't get a covid related refund, because skiing is still open. We don't have anything to do with the restaurants." Which I get. And the more you guys give me positive feedback about Park City and the more I research, the more I'm liking what I'm seeing.

Going to Vail the weekend of the 20th in February and skiing there for 3 days. Anything out of the ordinary going on there right now?

Pitkin County (Aspen) is going to require visitors to sign affidavit that they have had a negative COVID test in last 3 days or quarantine until a negative test or 14 days have elapsed. Visitors are defined as anyone arriving from outside of Pitkin, Eagle or Garfield Counties.
