Never used either. Living in Denver when I was renting before I bought my skis I would swing by Breeze Ski rentals on I-70 before heading out.

Thanks for the insight

Had my hopes up yesterday when I saw their grooming report and it showed another 6-8 runs open. I figured they might have been working to get some more lifts open for the holiday week. The report from today however only showed the same few from opening day.

I feel your pain. I booked a risky trip to Whistler in a few weeks. I am canceling it and just driving to Crested Butte for a week instead.

I’m going to Whistler in January. I wanted to go for December. Thank god I didn’t make that mistake. It’s supposed to be snowing next week in the village and this weekend mid mountain. Hopefully, they have a good enough base by the time I get there.

Anyone know when Peak 7 and the Independence SuperChair in Breckenridge typically opens? I know it varies on snowfall but is it normally open in early December or later in the season?

2016 - Dec 16th
2017 - can't find anything
2018 - Dec 1st
This year I'd guess mid to late December

What about helmets? Last year was my first year to ski and I didn’t wear one. I would say 75% of the people had them on. Would a bike helmet be sufficient, or would I look like a flatland Mississippi hick?

Yes it is. Thank god I am getting new tires tomorrow. Going to Vail Friday night, then crested butte for a few days then telluride to finish the trip off.

Your Vail trip is well timed, I’d expect. Breck is about to get dumped on . New lifts and terrain are being opened up. The season looks good after a slow November.

Living in Denver has it perks. Like going to the mountains on the weekends when they are calling for powder.

Gonna try to head up early tomorrow morning for some turns, lunch, then back down. Supposedly the teeth of the storm will be chompin early tomorrow, so hopefully we can even make it up and 70 isn’t closed. Solid chance it will be though if plows can’t keep up or the winds are too strong making visibility near zero.

How's i70? I am heading up in the morning with the kiddos to Breck. Got a pass holder deal for $200 a night all in. Figure half the front range will be passing the dinosaur lots at 7am mañana. We are gonna leave Denver about 9, hope to be getting some turns for noon then head back about noonish on Sunday.

It was fine last night. Looks like we got about 5” over night here in vail. Looking at cotrip.org the roads don’t look too bad coming from Denver.
