I agree that’s still not cheap but more reasonable than the Epic resorts. Loveland also is another place I meant to mention that you can find deals on. Skiing is so popular right now that many resorts can charge whatever they want and people still pay it, supply and demand. I would love to see prices go down but I don’t see it happening anytime soon and have had to adjust my entertainment budget to allow for more snowboarding and less other entertainment forms,
At Brighton today and it’s an all timer. 10 inches at 6am overnight and it hasn’t stopped and won’t stop today, plus no lift lines. Couldn’t ask for a better last day of our trip.

Loveland is underrated. Fun mountain & cheap.

Milly Express on a powder day is tough to beat.

Took a friend out to Grand Teton National Park to ski the same couloir I ski'd with my ski mountaineering course guide last week. It was special and surreal experience to be able to lead my friend through his first ski rappel. Something special about moving through the mountains this way. Ready for all the opportunities this will open up.
Broken Thumb pictured from across Avalanche Canyon
Steep pow skiing in the first choke of the couloir
Above the second choke that leads to the rappel
Going down
Nothing left to do, but smile, smile, smile
Bottom of rappel -- relief from being done with the rappel, and anxiety about having to get my skis on this 45+ degree slope all rolled into one picture
Back to the easy part -- skiing

They’ve started to bulldoze a lot of snow on the winter park resort side. Mary Jane is still pumping though! Got about 2-3” of snow Friday night for a decent powder day on Saturday.

Who's still skiing? I'm still skiing.
Yesterday was an all-time day, even though it was kind of shitty weather. I worked at the golf course from 6:45-noon. Rode the summer tram and ski'd Four Pines sidecountry while staring at my golf course below. Then I went and played 16 holes of golf back at the course.
Productive day.

Well, probably belongs in a separate thread, but here goes:
Just finished booking up my skiing for the 2020 season. Doing a few trips, including my first trip to Telluride (also, CB and J Hole). I'm an experienced enough skier and I am looking to do the hike to Palmyra Peak. For anyone who has done it before - what can I suspect? How is the hike? I am not a huge fan of exposure when I am off my skis, and the narrowness of the ridge is difficult to discern. Also, I'm guessing I should bring my crossover/AT gear.
I have read a good deal online, and people differ on the degree of "hairiness." If anyone has experience, would appreciate knowing.

Skied Breck yesterday. Conditions were meh. But hell, it’s nearly June so you can’t expect too much. Called it a day at about 2pm to prevent any injuries.

Is this your first time to Chile? Obviously, you're enjoying it. I love Chile. I lived in La Paz, Bolivia for five years and made a few trips during Christmas holidays...their summer. Did the drive from Puerto Montt over to Bariloche in Argentina three times.

First time in Chile but we did Argentina last August! I preferred Argentina except the people here are a lot more outgoing and friendly. We were able to make friends this time to go out and party with.

How was the skiing and the infrastructure...lifts, accommodations, transportation, etc?

A Basin is on Ikon with 7 days on the full pass and 5 with restrictions on the base pass. Guess they overestimated how many wanted an A Basin only pass...
Posted on 8/2/19 at 10:53 am to 8thyearsenior
Most people don't want to only have ABasin as an option. Most people also don't buy two passes. They definitely overestimated.
